To the Lakeland R/C Loons website. The “Lakeland Loons” are a group of radio controlled model airplane enthusiasts living and flying in the far Northwoods of Wisconsin. Weather permitting Sunday through Thursday evenings you will most likely find one or more "Loons" flying their models from the East/West runway at the Noble F. Lee Memorial Field in Arbor Vitae, Wisconsin.
On the Runway
On the Grass
Our club is sanctioned by the Academy of Model Aviation (AMA) and is comprised of pilots from all of the surrounding communities. Our members are of all age groups and skill levels from beginners to experts. The planes we fly vary in size and style from small foam models with twelve inch wingspans to planes with wings stretching six feet or more. You will find a mix of both electric and gas powered planes as well as helicopters in our club.
If you are interested in flying R/C, learning to fly, or you would just like to see some R/C models in the air, we invite you stop by the flying field or contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org . You can also visit the 'About Us' page for additional information about joining the club.
Thanks for visiting our website and we look forward to meeting you.
A Special Thank You
The R/C Loons extend a public thank you to the Marshfield Clinic for allowing us the use of their meeting room for our winter club meetings. The Lakeland Airport Commission for providing us with a flying site at the Nobel F. Lee Memorial Airport in Arbor Vitae. And the Eagle River School Board for allowing us the use of the Middle School gym for our winter indoor flying activities.
