LADIES AUXILIARY (LA)
For the Legion, the value of our volunteers is priceless. The programs and services we provide for those who served, and their families, would not be possible without the support of our dedicated volunteers. From supporting homeless Veterans, to helping ill and injured Veterans get the care they need, to visiting Veterans in long term care facilities, and much more. We also help Canadians honour and remember those who served and sacrificed, through the Poppy Campaign, organizing commemorative ceremonies, and teaching youth about the importance of Remembrance. Our members make a real difference for those who gave so much for our freedoms.
The work our volunteers do in the kitchen, on the bar, maintaining our building, working in the office, and many other activities makes it possible for the branch to make a difference in our community.
The branch Colour Party is an essential component of legion ceremonies and meetings. If you are able to march short distances and stand for up to 40 minutes or so we need your help. Our Colour Party members bring dignity to remembrance ceremonies, celebrations of life, legion meetings and on other occasions. If you are able to volunteer please contact our Sergeant-at-Arms or leave you name at the branch office or bar.

FRIDAY DANCE AND SPECIAL EVENTS DOOR CONTROL VOLUNTEERS
We have ongoing requirements for volunteers to meet people at the door and collect cover charges for our Friday night dances and other special events.
We can use volunteer help with supporting our branch computers and network
In 2020 the Ladies Auxiliaries (LA) of Branch 4 and Branch 280 voted to amalgamate as the Ladies Auxiliary to Branch 295. Our LA works hard to support regular legion activities and actively raises funds for such things as student bursaries. New members are welcomed.
The Branch 295 Ladies Auxiliary is happy to announce we are now open for business after 2 long years. We held General meetings Jan. 25 and Feb. 22. Hopefully we'll have a full executive by our next meeting Mar. 22, 2022. Currently there are 21 life and 43 regular members. We assist the Branch with the maintenance and comfort of disabled, sick and needy ex-service personnel and their dependents, and co-operate with the Branch in the promotion and carrying out of all Purposes and Objects of the Royal Canadian Legion. We work with the Branch to do Celebrations of Life, weddings, fundraisers and other events. For bookings please call Branch 295 at 604 858 3600. Anyone wishing to join the L. A. can contact Ann Fraser at 604-226-6782. We look forward to working with the Branch.
The Ladies’ Auxiliary is a non-profit organization operated separate from The Royal Canadian Legion… but together they thrive.
The Ladies’ Auxiliary originated during the First World War when women were asked to help wounded Veterans returning home, and to provide supports for their families. When The Royal Canadian Legion was established in 1926, these women were a welcomed addition at Legion Branches as they continued the tradition of volunteering to support needy ex-service personnel, and to enrich the programs and activities of the Branch.
Members of the Ladies’ Auxiliary support the aims and objects of The Royal Canadian Legion and today, they are a vital and integral part of the work of the Legion. Major contributors to the day-to-day life of Legion Branches, Ladies’ Auxiliaries provide financial and volunteer support to Legion programs.
The Ladies’ Auxiliaries are coordinated at the Branch level. Any woman who is eligible for membership in the Legion may choose to become a member of the Ladies Auxiliary only, or a member of both organizations. For more information on the Ladies Auxiliary please contact the branch.
