ROYAL CANADIAN LEGION BURSARY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
The Royal Canadian Legion (Ontario Command) offers a bursary assistance program of up to $750 per year (to a maximum of five years) for eligible persons pursuing post-secondary education and/or training, including university, college and programs of a technical or vocational nature. Apprentices may apply for assistance for the purchase of tools and instruments. Assistance is not based on scholastic standing but rather on the successful completion of the current year of study, and recommendation by the Bursary Committee.
The program opens in September and closes the last Friday of March each year. The bursary is available to:
Ex-Service personnel or currently serving members of the Canadian Forces (Regular, Reserve, and Merchant Navy) and their children and grandchildren;
Commonwealth war veterans and their children and grandchildren;
Ordinary and Life members of the Legion and their children and grandchildren;
Associate members of the Legion and their children; and
Ladies’ Auxiliary members and their children and grandchildren.
