The Bible

• We believe that the Bible is the inspired, inerrant Word of God and that men were moved by the Spirit to write words of Scripture. It is also the divine authority for “real” living in our daily lives. (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21)

• We believe in one God who exists in three distinct persons (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit). God the Father, Creator of everything; God the Son, the Savior sent by God; the Holy Spirit, indwelling all those who receive by faith Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; John 1:14; 2 Corinthians 13:14)

• We believe that man was created in the image of God to have fellowship with Him, but became alienated from that relationship through sinful disobedience. As a result, man is totally incapable of coming back into a right relationship with God by his own effort. We believe that God values all lives including that of the unborn child and wishes for all people to repent and be saved. (Genesis 1:26, 2:17, 3:17-24; Isaiah 59:1-2; Romans 3:9-19, 23, 5:8; Luke 18:26-27; Ephesians 2:13, Jeremiah 1:4-5, Psalm 139:13-15, 2 Peter 3:9 )

• We believe that Jesus Christ is “the way, the truth, and the life.” (John 14:6) Jesus did not come to condemn the world, but it was through Him we might be saved. We believe in the eternal security of the believer. (John 1:12-13, 3:1-7, 14-16, 10:27-29; Acts 26:20; Romans 1:16, 8:14-17, 31-39, 10:9-10; 2 Corinthians 5:17; Ephesians 1:7, 13-14, 2:8-10; 1 Peter 1:3-5)

The Christian Life

• Because of God’s redemption through Christ, We believe that every Christian is called to live as children of obedience, not fashioning yourselves according to your former lusts in the time of your ignorance: but like as he who called you is holy, be yourselves also holy in all manner of living (1 Peter 1:14-15). By obedience to the Word and daily yielding to the Spirit, every believer will mature and become conformed to the image of Christ. (Galatians 2:20; 1 Peter 1:15-16, 2:11; 2 Corinthians 5:14-15; Romans 6:11-13; Ephesians 2:10, 4:11-12, 22-24; 1 Peter 4:10-11; Acts 1:8, Matthew 28:18-20; Colossians 1:10; John 15:8, 16)

Marriage & Family

We believe God has established marriage as a lifelong, exclusive relationship between one man and one woman as an earthly portrait of His eternal covenant love for His people and that all intimate sexual activity outside of the marriage relationship, heterosexual, homosexual or otherwise, distorts that portrait of His pure and enduring love. (Gen 2:24-25; Ex. 20:14; Matt. 19:4-6; Rom 1:18-31; 1Cor 6:9-10)

• We believe that the Church is the body of Christ of which Jesus Christ is the Head. The members are those who have trusted by faith the finished work of Christ. The purpose of the church is to glorify God by loving Him and by making Him known to a lost world. As members of the Body of Christ, we are called to identify with Him in baptism and remember His death in the Lord’s supper. (Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 12:12-27; Ephesians 1:20-23, 4:1-6, 12-16; Matthew 28:18-20; John 17; Colossians 1:24-29, Acts 2:38-47)
