If anyone do use sculptris and can help it will be appreciated. I want to know if it's possible to import any photo or image into sculptris to use as reference to sculpt from. In Hexagon and Blender this is possible but not sure about scuptris. All I could figure out is how to add an image as a background but that is not working as the image are stretched over the whole screen.

Although I don't know the answer to your question, could you modify your reference image in photoshop by adding a border and/or changing the aspect ratio so that it becomes unstretched and positioned correctly? I'm thinking simply create a new canvas of the exact dimentions of the sculptris window, then just pasting your image over the top of that, then resave as a new image.

importing tri mesh from other apps like 3dcoat voxels is an interesting option but subdivide and reduce a few times first, so Sc will remesh the whole thing. Else when tessellation is on, it may crash sculptris or even the OS ! A warning.

I knocked this up in thirty minutes in sculptris. Its not the best work in the world but this was my first go in sculptris and I looked at no tutorials or had any direction for use. The interface is that easy and intuative that if you are even reasonably versed in zBrush, Sculptris is very quick to pick up.

I initially thought it would be a good way to make a base model in sculptris because of its dynamic tessellation capability; but if the model is all facetted wnen sent to zbrush, it is not useful for my workflow.

Hi Keith, i discover this little piece of software the other day, its great to know that an awesome dude like you is using it. Personally i found it great, it's simple and fun, but i missed more options to work with multiple objects, so i started learning zbrush, but i can say that Sculptris kind of push me into learning zbrush, which is something i'll always be greatful. Now i'm fighting my way trough zbrush, but every now and then y open sculptris to have some fun :D

Huh? I'm able to save and re-open my files without any problem at all. I just opened this model again months later. The files get saved in the same directory as the sculptris.exe bin. Of course that's not a preferred place for a working file, but it does save them. 5376163bf9
