Our research at Raut Research Lab lies at the interface of inorganic and organic chemistry, with a focus on harnessing the largely untapped potential of main-group elements in catalysis. While transition metals have traditionally dominated catalytic chemistry, emerging studies indicate that main-group elements can enable distinct reactivity patterns and mechanistic pathways. Our group aims to design novel catalytic platforms based on p-block elements that promote efficient, selective, and sustainable chemical transformations. By integrating catalyst design, synthetic methodology development, and detailed mechanistic studies, we seek to uncover new reaction manifolds and modes of bond activation. These efforts aim to expand the role of main-group chemistry in modern organic synthesis. Ultimately, our goal is to develop innovative catalytic strategies that connect fundamental inorganic chemistry with practical and sustainable synthetic applications
