Raven Browser does not require account registration or login. We do not operate remote servers that monitor or record your browsing history, search queries, or passwords.
2. LOCAL ON-DEVICE STORAGE
- History & Bookmarks: Browsing history and bookmarks are saved strictly on your local device storage.
- Cookies & Cache: Stored locally by the web component to speed up page loading and maintain website login sessions.
- User Control: You have complete control to delete your browsing history, cookies, and cache at any time via Settings or automatically upon exit using the "Exit & Clear" feature.
3. ADVANCED PRIVACY & SECURITY FEATURES
- Incognito Mode: Does not save history, cookies, or cache; blocks geolocation; spoofs browser navigator identity; and prevents WebRTC IP leaks.
- AdBlocker & Anti-Tracking: Blocks analytics scripts, tracking beacons, and telemetry on web pages to protect your privacy.
- DNS over HTTPS (DoH): Supports encrypted DNS queries (Cloudflare, Quad9, Google, AdGuard) to prevent network snooping or ISP eavesdropping.
- Integrated Proxy/VPN: Provides secure routing options to protect your network traffic.
- On-Device Image & Comic Translation (OCR): Text detection on images is processed strictly locally on your device (on-device machine learning) without sending your images to any remote servers.
4. DEVICE PERMISSIONS & USAGE
- Internet & Network State: Required to browse web pages, download files, and load advertisements.
- Storage & Media Access: Strictly used to save downloaded files to your device storage and play your downloaded media in built-in players.
- User-Initiated File, Photo & Video Upload: When you choose to upload a file, capture a photo, or record a video to upload to a website you visit, the app processes only the specific item you select and transmits it directly to that destination website. Raven Browser never scans, collects, or stores copies of your personal files on our servers.
- Foreground Services: Used to keep audio/video playback active in the background, ensure reliable multi-threaded downloads, and monitor proxy/VPN status.
- Notifications: Displays media playback controls in the status bar, download progress indicators, and VPN status.
- Display Over Other Apps: Used exclusively for floating video Picture-in-Picture (PiP) window upon user request.
- Home Screen Shortcuts: Used to create quick website shortcuts on your home screen at your request.
5. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES & ADVERTISING
Raven Browser integrates reputable third-party advertising networks to support free app maintenance:
- Google AdMob
- Unity Ads (via Google Mobile Ads mediation)
These ad partners may collect and process anonymous technical data (such as Google Advertising ID/GAID, coarse IP location, device model, and ad interaction metrics) to serve relevant ads and prevent fraud. You can opt out or reset your advertising identifier anytime in your device settings (Settings > Google > Ads).
6. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
Raven Browser is designed for general audiences and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years of age.
7. THIRD-PARTY WEBSITES
As a web browser, Raven Browser allows you to visit external websites across the internet. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of external sites you choose to visit.
