Ratelio is a currency converter, exchange rate tracking, chart, alert, and home screen widget application.
Information We Collect
Ratelio does not require users to create an account and does not intentionally collect personal information such as your name, email address, phone number, payment information, contacts, or precise location.
Exchange Rate Data
Ratelio connects to the Frankfurter exchange rate service to retrieve current and historical currency exchange rates. When the app communicates with this service, standard technical information such as your IP address may be processed by the service provider as part of normal internet communication.
Ratelio does not control how third-party services process this technical information.
Data Stored on Your Device
Ratelio stores certain preferences locally on your device to improve your experience. This may include:
Previously selected currencies
Currency alert settings
Home screen widget settings
Chart and rate display preferences
This information is used only for application functionality and is not sent to Ratelio-owned servers.
Currency Alerts and Notifications
If you create a currency alert, Ratelio stores the alert information locally on your device and periodically checks exchange rates in order to determine whether your selected target has been reached.
The app may send local notifications when an enabled currency alert reaches its target.
You may disable notifications at any time through your Android device settings.
Home Screen Widget
If you use the Ratelio home screen widget, your selected currencies and the latest displayed exchange rate are stored locally so that the widget can display your chosen currency pair.
Internet Access
Ratelio requires an internet connection to retrieve current and historical exchange rate information.
Third-Party Services
Ratelio currently uses the Frankfurter API for exchange rate information.
Third-party services may have their own privacy practices and policies. Ratelio is not responsible for the privacy practices of external services.
Advertising
Ratelio does not currently display third-party advertisements.
Financial Services
Ratelio is provided for informational purposes only. It does not provide banking, money transfer, payment processing, investment, brokerage, or financial advisory services.
Exchange rates displayed in the app are reference rates and may differ from the rates offered by banks, payment providers, currency exchanges, or other financial institutions.
Children's Privacy
Ratelio is not specifically designed to collect personal information from children. The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Data Control
Since Ratelio does not require an account, there is no user account data stored on Ratelio-owned servers.
Locally stored application data can be removed by clearing Ratelio's app data in Android settings or by uninstalling the application.
