This Privacy Policy outlines how Frater Studios, the Service Provider, gathers, utilizes, discloses, and protects personal information when you interact with the Rate mobile application on iOS and Android devices. Our practices align with the requirements of Apple’s App Store Review Guidelines and the Google Play Data Safety framework.
When you sign up for Rate, we require your email address and a secure password, which is encrypted and managed by Supabase. You also choose a username and provide your date of birth; the latter ensures compliance with our minimum age requirement of sixteen years and helps personalize your in‑app experience. If you decide to add a profile photo, the application will request access to your camera or photo library only at the moment you opt to capture or select an image. As you use Rate, the system records the numeric ratings you assign to other users on a scale of one to ten, as well as any comments you choose to leave. Beyond this information, Rate does not collect precise GPS location, contacts, audio recordings, analytics data, or any form of behavioral tracking.
We use your email, encrypted password, username, and date of birth to create and maintain your user account and ensure you meet age requirements. Profile photos, ratings, and comments are processed through our backend to power the core functionality—matching you with other users, capturing feedback, and displaying results at the end of each rating cycle. When you reach out to customer support within the app, we employ the Resend API to deliver timely email responses pertaining to your inquiry. In addition, we may use your email address to send you news, feature updates, and promotional communications about the Application. You can unsubscribe from these marketing emails at any time through the link provided in each message. We do not sell or share your information; it remains solely within the Rate App database.
Rate relies on Supabase for backend infrastructure, including authentication, encrypted data storage, and secure edge functions that handle all sensitive operations. Resend API is used exclusively to send support-related emails when requested by you. On Android devices, Google Play Services may be invoked for license verification and app updates; this process does not involve the sharing of personal user data. We do not disclose, sell, or rent your personal information to advertisers or unrelated third parties.
User‑generated content such as profile photos, ratings, and comments remains available for a period of twenty‑four hours following each rating cycle, after which it is permanently and automatically deleted from our systems. Your account credentials—specifically your email address, username, and date of birth—are retained until you choose to delete your account. Should you decide to remove your account via the in‑app deletion feature, all associated information, including your profile, images, ratings, and comments, will be immediately and irreversibly erased.
All information transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS, and data at rest is protected by industry-standard encryption provided by Supabase. Row-level security policies are enforced on all database tables to prevent unauthorized access. Edge functions execute sensitive operations using service-role keys that are never exposed to the client, and only authentication tokens are stored locally to maintain your session.
You have the right to access, update, or delete any personal information maintained by Rate. You can review and modify your profile details, including your date of birth, at any time within the application. If you wish to delete your account and all related data, you may do so through the in‑app settings or by contacting us directly. Additionally, you control camera and photo library permissions through your device’s settings and can revoke them at any time.
Rate is intended for users aged sixteen and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under sixteen years of age. If we become aware that data from a minor under sixteen has been collected, we will take prompt steps to delete that information without undue delay.
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices or legal obligations. Whenever we make significant revisions, we will notify you within the application. Continued use of Rate after such changes indicates your acceptance of the updated policy.
