This is Coach Chris's 9th year as a Head Coach and 3rd season with the Raptors organization. He is a USA Hockey CEP Level 4 coach. During his first season with the Raptors, their team finished 2nd in the division, won a championship tournament, and finished runner-up in two additional tournaments. Last season, his team earned two tournament runner-up finishes and completed the season ranked #1 in our division.
His athletic background actually began outside of hockey in gymnastics. He was a two-time Junior Olympian and trained at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado as well as in Russia during one summer. He was also training toward the 1996 Olympics before stepping away from the sport in 1994. During high school, he transitioned into springboard diving, training under the Head Coach at UNC. Throughout high school competition, he consistently battled for the top spot in the state.
After high school, he discovered hockey and immediately fell in love with the game. He has played center and wing in multiple leagues over the years and has been part of several league championship teams.
After becoming a parent, Chris shifted his focus to coaching. He strongly believes hockey teaches far more than just the game itself — it builds character, discipline, teamwork, accountability, and lifelong friendships. It’s extremely important to him that his players enjoy coming to the rink, feel supported, and have fun competing together.
