# RapidMRT Privacy Policy

RapidMRT is an independent third-party NFC utility for supported MRT Pass and Rapid Pass cards in Bangladesh.
RapidMRT is NOT affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, operated by, or officially connected to Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL), Dhaka Metro Rail, or any government authority.
RapidMRT is a read-only utility. It allows users to view available information stored on compatible transit cards and does not recharge, modify, write to, or alter any card.

## Data handled by the app
RapidMRT may read and store the following information locally on the user's Android device after the user manually initiates an NFC scan:
- Technical card identifier from the supported transit card
- Card nickname chosen by the user
- Available card balance information
- Available travel or destination records stored on the card
- Available recharge records stored on the card
- Scan date and time
- App settings, including language, theme, sounds, vibration, animations, and export preferences
RapidMRT only processes card information that is available and readable from supported cards. The availability and completeness of information may vary depending on the card format and stored data.

## Data collection and sharing
RapidMRT does not contain advertisements, analytics, user tracking, or account creation.
RapidMRT does not request Android Internet permission.
The developer does not receive, collect, or access card information or app usage information through the application.
All card information remains stored locally on the user's device unless the user intentionally copies, exports, shares, or displays information using optional app features or Android system features.

## NFC access
RapidMRT uses NFC only when the user chooses to scan a supported transit card.
NFC information is processed locally on the device.
RapidMRT cannot:
- Recharge or top up a transit card
- Write information to a transit card
- Modify card balance
- Alter card data

## Permissions
RapidMRT uses the following device features:
**NFC permission**
- Required only for scanning compatible transit cards when initiated by the user.
- NFC is not used in the background.
**File export and sharing features**
- Used only when the user chooses to export or share information using available app features or Android system sharing options.
RapidMRT does not request unnecessary permissions and does not access device information unrelated to its core functionality.

## Exports, sharing and clipboard
RapidMRT may allow users to:
- Export supported card information as PDF or TXT files
- Share exported information using another application selected by the user
- Copy information to the Android clipboard
- Display a card nickname and balance through an optional home-screen widget
Files exported outside RapidMRT are controlled by the user and may not be encrypted.
Information shared with another application becomes subject to that application's own privacy policy.

## Data storage and security
RapidMRT stores card information and user preferences inside the app's private local storage on the user's Android device.
Android backup and device-transfer backup are disabled for RapidMRT card data.
Reasonable local security measures are used to protect stored information. However, no electronic storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

## Data retention and deletion
Card information remains on the user's device until the user deletes it.
Users can:
- Delete individual saved cards
- Clear saved scan history
- Remove stored information using available app options
Uninstalling RapidMRT removes data stored inside the application's private storage.
Files previously exported or shared outside the app must be deleted separately by the user.

RapidMRT does not knowingly collect personal information from children or any users.
