The Ranking Systems Research (RSR) Group is supported by the National Research, Development and Innovation Office under Grant FK 145838.
A paper co-athored by a member of the research group entitled Differentiating a Linear Recursive Sequence appeared in Mathematical Notes on 8 September 2025.
A paper co-authored by two members of the research group entitled Optimal sequences for pairwise comparisons: the graph of graphs approach appeared in Annals of Operations Reseatch on 3 September 2025.
A project UEFA Champions League & Europa League Prediction and rankings that provides predictions before all matchdays and alternative rankings has been started with the participation of two research group members.
Ranking is a fundamental issue in many fields of science: rankings are used to represent both individual and collective preferences, allocate financial and other resources, or support potentially life-changing decisions.
We are focusing on two specific fields where rankings play a prominent role: pairwise comparison matrices and sports tournaments.
The goal of the project is to demonstrate that the axiomatic analysis of ranking systems can offer new and important insight into both decision-making methods and sports rules.
