My reflections about the lessons
FOUNDATION OF SPECIAL AND INCLUSIVE EDUCATION OPENS NOT ONLY JUST MY EYES BUT ALSO MY MIND INTO UNDERSTANDING THAT BEING A TEACHER IS NOT JUST ABOUT TEACHING REGULAR STUDENTS; THAT THERE ARE DIFFERENT KINDS OF LEARNERS. TO TELL THE TRUTH, WHEN I CHOOSE EDUCATION, I ACTUALLY FORGOT THAT THERE ARE LEARNERS THAT MIGHT BE EUNCONVENTIONAL, I DO NOT DISREGARD THEN NOR HOLD THEM IN CONTEMPT, IT JUST MISSED MY MIND WHICH IS A GIANT OVERSIGHT AND PROOF OF MY LIMITED UNDERSTANDING OF WHAT A TEACHER REALLY IS.
THIS SUBJECT SHOWS ME THAT EACH LEARNERS SHOULD BE TREATED AND TAUGHT DIFFERENTLY AND THAT BEING A TEACHER DOES NOT MEAN FOLLOWING THE STRATEGIES THAT ARE OFTEN GIVEN TO US. STUDENTS MAY HAVE SPECIAL NEED AND MIGHT NEED SPECIAL ATTENTION IN CLASS SO THAT THEY COULD PERFORM IN THEIR PEAK, THAT LEARNERS NAVIGATE DIFFERENT CHALLENGES AND US AS THEIR TEACHER SUCH BE THEIR GUIDE AND LIGHT IN ACHIEING THEIR DREAMS.
WHILE ATTENDING THIS CLASS I BECAME INCREASINGLY AWARE OF THE BURDEN OF BEING A TEACHER AND THE NEED TO CREATE AN ENVIRONMENT FOR THEM TO STRIVE AND GROW. THE COMMITMENT AND SUPPORT THAT OUR TEACHERS GIVES TO US SO THAT WE COULD BUILD OURSELVEA TO WHAT WE ARE TODAY.
THANK YOU, MA'AM HELEN FOR TEACHING US IS SUBJECT WHICH IS NOW BECOMING OUR FOULDATION AS A FUTURE EDUCATOR. I WILL KEEP YOUR LESSONS IN MY HEART. AND IF EVER I BECOMES A TEACHER, I WOULD ALSO SOMEDAY BUILD AN ENVIRONMENT WHERE EACH LEARNERS ARE LOVED AND CARED DESPITE DIFFERENCE.
