Rami Cohen, PhD

I have obtained my PhD degree from the Andrew and Erna Viterbi faculty of Electrical Engineering of the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology, advised by Prof. Yuval Cassuto. My PhD research focused on the design and analysis of error-correcting codes for high-speed memory devices and systems, for improved reliability and performance. Here is my PhD seminar presentation and here is my PhD thesis. I completed (October 2017) a period as a research intern (deep learning) at the Israeli National Research and Simulation Center. I currently work as an algorithm developer at Medtronic Innovation Center Israel (since December 2017).

My research interests are broad, including (click the projects tab for additional details):

· Machine learning (including deep learning)

· Computer vision

· Speech/image processing

· Image/video compression (e.g., H.264/H.265)

· Error-correcting codes (new channel models, non-binary LDPC codes, efficient decoding algorithms)

· Algorithms for the optimization of memory/storage devices with shared resources (e.g., cloud)
