This game fits into a category of games called "Survival Games" because they all eliminate people along the way until there is only one person left. The most well known game in this genre is “Simon Sez”. The beauty of these games is that they are quick and easy. They can be played anywhere at any time. They require almost no skill or ability and anyone can win. Also they require little or no equipment and preparation. They all have the same formation - the participants are standing facing the leader.
In order to begin the game, all of the players have to be standing and the leader has to come up with a way to signify that a player has chosen heads or tails. An example of this is thumbs up if they are guessing heads and thumbs down if they are guessing tails. Then at the same time every player makes their decision. The leader then flips the coin. The people who guess wrong are eliminated and have to sit down and the players who guess correctly stay standing to continue in the game. The game keeps going until only one person remains and they are declared the winner.
A player cannot switch votes after their decision has been made.
A player cannot re-enter the game unless additional rules are added or until the game restarts.
Additional Rules
The winner of the game can then become the leader in the next game.
Another way to play is by using a deck of cards or dice. The players can then vote on whether the next card/roll is going to be higher or lower than the previous (Ace=1, Jack=11, Queen=12, King=13). Or the players can vote on whether the next card/roll is going to be odd or even.
If the counselor doesn't have any of the required items, they can use their phone to google/ ask Siri to flip a coin
Keep all of the players within the view of a counselor.
When the players are eliminated, they sit down to avoid running away from the group. An alternative to this could be that a second counselor is running another game for the players who were eliminated until "Heads or Tails" is restarted.
