This is a commonly played game in Tennis but can also be played in other areas of camp. (Some of which are listed above)
One person, designated as the “king" goes to the far side of the court. The other players make a line behind the current challenger. The first challenger steps up and plays a singles point against the king. The king always gets to serve/start first. If the challenger wins, they replace the “king” on the other side of the court. Variations of this game include the challenger having to win two or three points in a row. This is a great format for many activities because it keeps the game moving along and everyone stays engaged and involved.
Make sure the line is not in the challengers play area. In Tennis, the line would start behind the baseline.
Only one challenger should go at a time unless it is a Doubles King of the Court (2v2)
Campers cannot cut the line.
Additional Rules
Play with "Points"
Every time the "King" wins they receive a point.
The player with the most points at the end of the period wins the game.
Make sure one counselor is watching the game and another counselor is watching the line.
This is especially important with a competitive group. In this case, a counselor may have to referee and keep score.
