Rakesh Ranjan (IEEE Member) is presently an Assistant Professor in School of Computer Science (SoCS) at UPES Dehradun, India.
He was a former Research Scholar at National Institute of Technology Patna (NITP), India from July-2019 to June-2024. He carried out his PhD research work under the supervision of Dr. Bikash Chandra Sahana (Associate Professor, NIT Patna) in brain signal analysis and synthesis with signal denoising (Artifacts removal) and application to detection of different mental disorders, and healthcare applications.
Earlier, He worked as Junior Research Fellow (JRF) at Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT) Nagpur, India in SERB funded Research Project (ECR/2017/000946) titled Development of a customized dual-mode in vivo Photoacoustic and Ultrasound Imaging system for early detection of breast cancer during 2018 to 2019.
From 2016 to 2018, he worked as an Assistant Professor at CMR Engineering College, Hyderabad, India.
He received M.Tech. degree in Electronics Design and Technology from National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), Aurangabad, India in 2016 and B.E. Degree from Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune, India in 2014.
Mr. Ranjan has done his secondary and higher secondary school certification from BSEB Patna.
He has authored more than 29 research papers in various reputed international journals/conferences and the citation impact of his publications is around 270 citations, h-index of 9, and i10 index of 8 (Google Scholar August 2024).
He is a recipient of various reputed national and international awards.
His research interests include biomedical signal processing, brain computer interface, time-frequency analysis, pattern recognition, machine learning, computer-aided medical diagnosis, and healthcare applications.
