The RAISE Program in Caraga recently held a successful Knowledge Inventory Workshop, Q4 Assessment, and Year 2 Strategic and Sustainability Planning session, bringing together project leaders, technical experts, and faculty and administrative staff to strengthen the regional innovation ecosystem in the Agriculture, Aquatic, and Natural Resources (AANR) sectors.
Spanning three days, the activity provided a venue to review accomplishments, assess knowledge assets, and map out strategies for Year 2 implementation. These efforts aimed to enhance collaboration, optimize intellectual property (IP) strategies, and ensure long-term sustainability of the program’s initiatives.
Day 1 opened with the presentation of Q4 accomplishments by each Project Technical Assistant (PTA). It was highlighted that the program remains on track with its deliverables and financial targets, as confirmed during the Year 2 renewal meeting. The project’s Chief Accountant also addressed financial clarifications raised during the session.
In the afternoon, Project 4 – Knowledge Management Hub (KM Hub) facilitated the Knowledge Inventory Workshop, featuring a brief lecture on knowledge management followed by presentations from each project team. The workshop allowed participants to identify their existing knowledge assets, gaps in knowledge flow, and opportunities for improvement.
Day 2 centered on Year 2 Strategic Planning, led by Mr. Melbert R. Bonotan, Project Leader of Project 3 – ATBI and TBI Director. He underscored the program’s overarching goal, stating, “Our main objective is to commercialize enterprise.” The planning session enabled teams to refine their Year 2 work plans using SWOT analysis, ensuring that responsibilities were clearly defined and efforts were not duplicated.
The afternoon was dedicated to Sustainability Planning, where Mr. Bonotan emphasized strategies to promote self-sufficiency and minimize dependence on external funding.
Day 3 concluded with the presentation of final sustainability plans, during which participants received feedback and refined their proposed strategies. These final outputs aligned with the program’s vision for continuous improvement and long-term viability.
The event reaffirmed RAISE’s commitment to driving innovation and fostering collaboration across Caraga’s AANR sectors. With concrete plans and sustainability measures now set for Year 2, the RAISE Program continues to move forward with renewed purpose—empowering research, innovation, and technology commercialization across the region.
