Overview
RailTracker ("the App") is a mobile application that provides real-time Indian train tracking and metro route information. We are committed to
protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
Information We Collect
Information We Do NOT Collect:
• We do not collect personal information (name, email, phone number)
• We do not require account creation or login
• We do not collect location data
• We do not track your browsing activity
• We do not sell any data to third parties
Information Stored Locally on Your Device:
• Search history: Your recent train searches and station searches are stored locally on your device using SharedPreferences. This data never leaves
your device and is not transmitted to any server.
• Coach position cache: When you view coach positions for a train, the composition data is cached locally for up to 15 days to reduce network usage.
This cache is automatically deleted after expiry.
• Theme preference: Your light/dark mode preference is stored locally.
Network Requests:
• The App makes network requests to third-party services to fetch train running status, schedules, coach positions, and station information. These
requests contain only the train number or station code you searched for — no personal data is transmitted.
Advertising
The App displays advertisements (banner and interstitial) served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect and use the following information to serve ads:
• Device identifiers (Advertising ID)
• IP address
• General device information (device model, OS version)
Google may use this data to serve personalized or non-personalized ads based on your preferences. You can opt out of personalized advertising by
adjusting your device settings:
• Go to Settings > Google > Ads > Opt out of Ads Personalization

Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party services:
• Google AdMob — for displaying advertisements. See "Advertising" section above.
• TrainTrack API — for fetching Indian Railways train data including live running status, schedules, and station information.
• Coach Position Data — Train coach composition data is sourced from publicly available travel websites to display coach layout information. No
personal data is sent in these requests.
• Metro Data — Metro route information (stations, lines, timings) for Indian cities is stored within the app and does not require network access.
Data Retention
All data stored by the App (search history, coach position cache, preferences) is kept locally on your device. You can clear this data at any time by:
• Clearing the app's data from your device settings, or
• Uninstalling the app
Children's Privacy
The App does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13 years of age. The App is suitable for all ages as it only displays
publicly available train schedule, status, and metro route information.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
