RAID 2.0 is the leading conference for solutions to infrastructural problems. It aims to bring together researchers and academicians from India and around the world to present and discuss advancements in relevant fields and to foster an environment conducive to exchanging ideas and information. This conference intends to have deliberations on various infrastructural developments and focus on the applications of various fields of Civil Engineering to address the recent challenges in infrastructure development. This platform will also expose young researchers to recent advancements in infrastructure developments. The keynote address and invited talks will be delivered by speakers from prestigious institutions around the world, who have extensive expertise in infrastructure development and have been active in the field for a significant amount of time.
The Department of Civil Engineering is one of the oldest departments in this institute. It was established at the inception stage of the Calicut Regional Engineering College (CREC), which was the forerunner to the present National Institute of Technology, Calicut (NITC), in 1961. Currently, the department offers an undergraduate program in Civil Engineering leading to the B.Tech degree. The six postgraduate programs leading to an M.Tech degree include Traffic and Transportation Planning, Offshore Structures, Structural Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, and Water Resources Engineering. The vibrant research culture in the department is visible from the sponsored projects by various departments and organizations, including the MHRD, SERB, DST, KSCSTE, etc.
