Engineering and Robotics
ROBOTEX Archery Gymnasium Competition
(June 2025)
In 9th grade, I participated in the Robotex competition. It was my first time participating. My project was a bow in an archery challenge. I did pretty well; I got fourth place, but only because I messed up the angles by accident.
ROBOTEX Folkrace Lycium Competition
(June 2026)
My team and I participated in the Robotex Folk Race competition. In this challenge, the robot has to navigate a race track filled with obstacles and successfully reach the finish line. I really enjoyed the entire engineering process, from designing and building the robot to testing, troubleshooting, and making improvements based on each trial. Our hard work paid off, and we earned 3rd place among all participants. This experience strengthened my problem-solving, teamwork, and iterative design skills while giving me valuable hands-on experience in robotics.
MIT–MISTI Global Teaching Labs (Jan 2026)
In 10th grade, I was selected to participate in the MIT–MISTI Global Teaching Labs Cyprus Program, the first-ever implementation of this MIT international program in Cyprus. This was a amazing experience. We used duckie bots (an MIT developed robot) to implement our ideas. I was in a team of three, and we decided to program a robot that identifies and follows color. You can see more about our code and our presentation in my GitHub in the MISTI-RescueBot repository.
Arduino projects
I have been experimenting with deferent sensors by making small Arduino projects. In July 2025 I took an online, self-paced Arduino course. It introduced participants to both the theoretical foundations and practical applications of Arduino. You can see two of them in this website and check out my youtube channel for more (see playlist "Arduino Projects").
MIT Beaver Works Summer Institute (Oct - Dec 2024)
In 9th grade, while in Boston, I participated in MIT’s Beaver Works program “Girls Who Can Design, Build, and Fly Model Aircraft,” where I learned the fundamentals of aeronautical engineering and teamwork. I was thrilled to participate in this program, learn from MIT instructors, and collaborate with other like-minded students.
Leadership, Empowerment, Technology
FEM Camp – Future Empowered Minds
(April 2025)
In 9th grade, I attended a 7-day camp that was about leadership, confidence, and growth. We were around 20 girls from both Ukraine and Cyprus. This was truly a unique experience, to be able to get to know people from Ukraine while learning about leadership skills. This camp was generally really inspiring and educative, as well as enjoyable.
1st Pancyprian Debate Competition
(April 2025)
In 9th grade, I was part of my school’s debate team. It was the first debate competition my school had participated in. We were a team of seven people. Our topic was social media: for. I had to prepare and present a defense speech, on which I received very good comments from both my teachers and the judges. There were six teams competing against each other. We ranked second as another team was just a bit better than us.
International Summer School on Remote Sensing
(June 2025)
In 9th grade, I took an online GIS course. It was my first time learning about GIS and applying it to solve real-life problems. I really liked learning about satellites and how to use the information we get from them to analyze the Earth. In our final project, my team and I researched wildfires, especially in South Africa, where we noticed there were many of them. Everything went well, and our presentation turned out great.
FEM Online Program (September-Noveber 2025)
This program was about leadership, self-understanding, confidence, growth, public speaking skills, and a lot more. There were many lectures with inspiring speakers who made their points clear and easy to understand. Every week, we also had a live meeting with the speakers, so we had the chance to talk to them and ask any questions we had. We worked in teams for our final project to improve teamwork and organization. Our team consists of 8 people, and we are currently working on an Instagram account about women leaders who have been forgotten in the past. It went really well, as we had 100 followers, merch, many videos, feedback, and statistics for our final presentation. Our most viewed video reached 70k views, we managed to do a collaboration with a famous girl athlete and we also had an interview with a Nataliia Hrytsiuk. You can find the video of that here. Our instagram account is here (you will see my videos too)
Technology Leaders of the Future
(July 2025)
During Summer 2025, I was lucky to participate in the TLF (Technology Leaders of the Future) Math Summer Camp, where I earned a Certificate on Polynomials. This was a week-long camp focused on intense mathematics. It was highly educational—not only in terms of math, but also in developing organizational skills, as I had to learn how to take notes during lectures and study productively under pressure. This was a unique and memorable experience for me, especially because I was only 15. I genuinely enjoyed it and met many people I am still in touch with today.
Programming and Coding
Unity 3D Skateboard Game
A skateboarder in a city trying to complete a level.
Shooter Python Game
I’m really proud of this game! I love how it turned out. The main objective is to survive as a rocket in space. You win when you shoot 10 aliens, but you lose if: you get hit by an alien or a meteorite, or you miss 3 aliens (they travel across the screen without being hit).
Pong Game in Python
It is a simple game of ping-pong. A two-player game.
AI & Machine Learning CYENS Center of Excellence (June 2025)
During Summer 2025, I was lucky to participate in the Machine Learning Summer Camp at CYENS. We learned basic Python and AI algorithms. Our teacher was Mr. Marios Pattichis, an Electrical and Computer Engineering professor at the University of New Mexico. He inspired me to set ambitious goals. The one week I spent at this camp was absolutely worth it, as it sparked my curiosity about AI.
C++ programming
I work with C++ programming. I haven't I've built and shipped something real but i am training with a variety of problems to prepare for the Olympiads. My ultimate goal is to become a great programmer.
EGOI (May 2026)
In 2026, I was one of the 4 girls who were selected to represent Cyprus in this competition. The event took place in Cesenatico, Italy. I used C++ throughout the contest. I really enjoyed the contest environment; being in a room with 260 girls who shared similar goals, interests, and enthusiasm for STEM was both mesmerizing and motivating. The atmosphere was incredibly supportive and inspiring, and it encouraged me to continue pursuing my passions with even greater determination. You can see there website here. This was a truly amazing and unique experience; unforgettable from start to finish.
Game Development Bootcamp (June 2026)
This was an intense week of learning and game development. At the beginning of the course, we learned the fundamentals, and then we spent the rest of the week building a working game demo to present at the end of the course. Our team consisted of three people, and we decided to create a mining game. We chose Roblox as our development platform. I had never worked with Roblox before, so it was a great opportunity to learn something new. Everything run smoothly, and by the end of the week we had successfully built our demo and presented it in front of an audience. The experience taught me not only how to use Roblox for game development but also how to collaborate effectively as part of a team.
Roblox Mining Game (June 2026)
My team and I developed this game during the Game Development Bootcamp (June 2026). I present some screenshots showcasing the different biomes and the user interface.
Erasmus+ Projects
MYTHS AND FACTS
This Erasmus+ project took place in Cyprus, my home country, and was a wonderful experience. We learned about the myths and cultures of the participating countries—Cyprus, Bulgaria, Georgia, Lebanon, the Czech Republic, and Armenia—while getting to know one another. I especially enjoyed learning about each country's traditions, tasting traditional dishes, and hearing about people's daily lives in their home countries. It was a great opportunity to make new friends, learn about different cultures, and broaden my perspective.
CERV-POLAND
This Erasmus+ project took place in Poland and was a fantastic experience. We learned about the youth initiatives in the city of Kielce while connecting with participants from Cyprus (my country), Spain, Portugal, Italy, and Poland. I especially enjoyed learning about different cultures, traditions, and cuisines, as well as meeting new people and hearing about their daily lives. It was a fun and enriching experience that helped me build international friendships and broaden my perspective.
Art & Design (Crochet)
Crocheting! It has been my hobby for the past few years. I have made all sorts of creations, from animals to blankets.
In 8th grade, I discovered crocheting and immediately fell in love with it. It was so relaxing and enjoyable that I would spend hours crocheting, determined to finish the project I had started. At some point, I had made too many plushies, and I got the idea that I could start selling them on Etsy. At that time, I was watching a lot of creators start their own businesses, and it all seemed easy and fun.
After opening my shop with the support of my parents, I realized how difficult it actually was to set up a bussiness. Nobody saw my plushies because I didn't have advertisements, and I faced a lot of competition. I tried making reels and videos and taking better pictures of my plushies to attract more viewers. Early on, I realized that Etsy's fees were much higher than what I was actually making, and I decided to close the business myself without any influence from my parents.
After this experience, I see small businesses differently and try to support them in any way I can.
