We value our users' privacy and right to control their own personal information. We understand that there may be times when a logged-in user wishes to delete their account from our platform, and we take steps to ensure that their wishes are respected.
When you create an account with us, we assign unique identifiers to help us provide users with access to our platform and app services. These identifiers include the access identifier, user identifier and the telemetry identifier. The access identifier is generated based on the incoming account's identifier into a unique value. This value is used for authentication and account management. When you delete your user account, we may retain this access identifier. This retention is primarily done to prevent misuse or fraudulent activities from the previously deleted accounts. It allows us to have an audit trail and assists us with potential investigations related to unsupported activities or violation of our terms of service. It is important to note that after account deletion, the access identifier's association to an account is deleted and the access identifier itself cannot be used for re-identification or linked back to any personally identifiable information. This is true unless the user re-registers back.
Another is the randomly generated user identifier which is similar to the access identifier however, this is used mainly as a user id and is deleted when the user deleted their Radika Radio account. The other is the randomly generated telemetry identifier which are utilized mainly in analyzing usage patterns, and improve the functionality and performance of our services. Also in the case of the telemetry identifier upon account deletion, the telemetry identifier's association with the user's personal data is permanently deleted and cannot be used to associate, link or identify with any user or previous user.
Telemetry data is retained as it helps us gain insights into how our users interact with our app and identify areas for improvement or optimization. Telemetry data is for statistical purposes such as number of clicks or interactions etc. Telemetry data in this term is non confidential and non sensitive data. It contains the aggregated data on how about how our app is used or how media was accessed and interacted which allows us to continuously improve our services and identify areas for improvement.
We retain some of these identifiers; the authentication and telemetry identifiers and telemetry data, even after account deletion for the following reasons:
Record keeping: Retaining access identifiers helps us maintain accurate and comprehensive records of our user base. This enables us to provide you with support and assistance in case you decide to reactivate your account in the future.
Prevention of abuse and unauthorized activities: Retaining some account identifiers allows us to detect, investigate, and prevent abuse, fraud, or any unauthorized activities on our platform. In the interest of providing a safe and secure environment for all users to ensure ongoing monitoring and security measures.
Platform functionality: Retaining certain account identifiers may also be necessary to preserve the functionality and integrity of our platform, particularly in authentication.
Data Analysis: Using a telemetry identifier and telemetry data help us gather data regarding the usage of our services, including the performance, stability, and effectiveness of our systems. This data allows us to identify and address any potential issues, improve our services, and enhance the user experience. Do note that data stripping is performed before a Telemetry data aggregation is performed in which personally identifiable information such as email addresses are removed from the collected telemetry data.
When a user requests to delete their account, there are steps outlined in the deletion process. This process includes prompting the user to verify the account to be deleted. Please note that when a user has logged in to multiple devices, it is recommended to log out of all other devices except one, which will be used to issue the deletion process. This is also outlined in the app when the user initiated the deletion process.
Once this information has been verified, the next step is to delete the user's account from Radika Radio, such as the user identifier and all associated user data and personal data . These include data such as their email address, user favorites, and any other information such as third-party services or platforms that may have been connected to the user's account. Access identifier and telemetry identifier may be retained as previously stated.
