New Year

Radical Book ExchangE

Now, more than ever, it's time to educate ourselves: to read up on our histories (and our present), to draw wisdom from our heroes, and develop our visions and methods for change.

The idea of the Radical Book Exchange to circulate essential texts for our time to help us all continue our personal education in the new year.

How it works

  • Sign up to participate using the form below before Dec 15th (12/15).
  • We'll send you your recipient's name and contact info by Dec 18th (12/18)
  • Select your book.
    • Books can be non-fiction or fiction and should be educational, related to topics of social/political justice or written by artist/activists, etc (see examples below).
    • The book can be new or used, or from your personal collection. (no need to spend money if you can't/don't want to)
    • If you'd like to include a note about why this book is important to you, recommendations for a particular section to focus on, or just general well wishes, please do! If you're open to discussing the book or continuing to share recommendations, please specify this in the note and share your contact info.
  • Mail the book to your recipient by January 2nd (1/2) If you're in the same city and would like to meet up instead, please let me know and we'll see if the other person is interested.
  • Get your book in the mail and read it!
  • If you get a book you've already read, we will coordinate an exchange to swap with someone else. If this goes well, we might even be able to coordinate a swap every couple of months so that you can pass on what you've read and keep the knowledge circulating.
  • Questions? Email me at acjoughin @ gmail dot com
