Rachid Hadjidj

Biography

Currently, I am serving as a Research Associate specializing in Cybersecurity at Concordia University in Canada. Prior to my current position, I worked as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Qatar University in Qatar.

I hold a Ph.D. degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Montreal, specifically from its renowned engineering college l’École Polytechnique de Montreal . Furthermore, I have a Master's degree in Computer Science from the University of Science and Technology in Algeria, showcasing my global exposure to diverse educational environments. Notably, my educational journey began with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from the same university.

Following the completion of my Ph.D., I had the valuable opportunity to contribute as a Postdoctoral Fellow for a duration of two years at Concordia University, further deepening my expertise in Cyber security. Additionally, I have garnered practical experience as a consultant, collaborating with esteemed organizations such as the Canadian National Defense, Fujitsu, and Bell Canada.

The combination of my academic achievements, research endeavors, and professional engagements has equipped me  with a comprehensive understanding of Formal methods, Machine learning and Cybersecurity tools, and their applications.


Current Position

Research Associate in Cybersecurity (Smart Grids) at Concordia University, Montreal, Canada, working on a collaboration research project with Hydro Quebec (the fourth largest hydro power producer in the world) and Thales (a well-recognized global leader in cyber security) about the monitoring in real time of the Smart Grid communication and control network to detect potential security breaches and cyber attacks. 

Research Interest

Real Time Studio (RT-Studio) is   an integrated environment for the edition, simulation and formal verification of Real time Systems modeled as networks of Interpreted Time Petri Nets (ITPNs). The tool was developed in the context of my PhD work in collaboration with Dr. Hanifa Boucheneb .
