About Rachel


Rachel M. Wallace is currently a second-year PhD student in Jurisprudence and Social Policy at UC Berkeley School of Law. She has an interdisciplinary focus in Law and Economics/Law and Society, with a designated emphasis in Political Economy. Rachel will also be pursuing her JD from Stanford Law School starting in Fall 2026.


Her current research interests include healthcare and labor inside of state prisons. Before starting her PhD studies, Rachel was a clinical instructor in the Policy Advocacy Clinic at Berkeley Law. 


Prior to coming to Berkeley for her Master of Public Policy at the Goldman School, Rachel worked in higher education access, youth mentorship, voting rights, and civic engagement.
