Training

The following are on-line National Incident Management Systems (NIMS) training courses that are required of all RACES members to complete. Forward a copy of each exam completion certificate to the Tompkins County RACES Radio Officer.

The required courses are as follows:

1. IS-100: Introduction to the Incident Command System

2. IS-200: Basic Incident Command System for Initial Response

3. IS-700: An Introduction to the National Incident Management System

4. IS-800: National Response Framework, An Introduction

The following ARRL Amateur Radio Emergency Service® (ARES) courses are highly encouraged:

1. EC-001, Introduction to Emerency Communications

2. EC-016, Public Service and Emergency Communications Management for Radio Amateurs

3. EC-015, ARRL Public Relations
