Can we create a better world by being more curious?

What would happen if we all were a little bit more curious? Curious of ourselves, others, the world, feelings, the opposite, the unknown… Maybe the world would be a little bit more open, friendlier, empathetic, allowing, peaceful and loving.

In a hurry? Busy being busy? Rushing around aimlessly?

When we rush to do something are we saving time or are we losing time?

Proud imposter

Imposter syndrome is a healthy sign making you aware that you still have a skill to learn or an experience to have. It is a lifelong syndrome if you’re a curious being, it’s a healthy state that makes you aware that you have more to learn and do.

Admire others skills and experiences and decide for yourself if it’s something that you would like to spend time and effort to learn and do. If not, move on with your very own learning journey, follow your curiosity and be you.

Just because you are loud doesn’t make you right

It’s easy to believe that people who take up space and are loud in a room know their stuff. That might be the case but don’t take it for granted, it’s just one opinion out of many unheard opinions.

Be curious about what is being said, be even more curious about what is not being said.

Are you brave enough to face your blind spots?

"Coaching might be even more essential than mentoring to our careers and our teams. Whereas mentors dole out words of wisdom, coaches roll up their sleeves and get their hands dirty. They don't just believe in our potential; they get in the arena to help us realize our potential. They hold up a mirror so we can see our blind spots and they hold us accountable for working through our sore spots. They take responsibility for making us better without taking credit for our accomplishments." - Bill Campbell

Are you brave enough to face your blind spots? It's the only way to realize your full potential, both as coachee and coach.

Be curious.
Be brave.
Be in the arena, get your hands dirty and share any wisdom you might have.

What's your passion?

When meeting a new person, instead of asking "What do you do?" ask "What's your passion?". A much more interesting way of getting to know someone and also a much more fun and inspiring question to receive and answer. Give it a try!

What's your passion? What makes you tick?

Free spirited

What does it mean to be a free spirited being? The best description I've heard so far is “I don't get you but I understand you're doing your own thing". And that to me is a compliment, I'm doing something I believe in even though no one else gets it. Go and do your thing!

Where might this path lead you?

You never know unless you try!

Just remember, as you curiously walk down the path, to continuously reassess if it’s the right path for you. If not, try another path… or maybe even start carving your very own path…

What if why didn’t exist?

One of my earliest childhood memories is when I kept asking questions like “why is the sky blue?”, “why does the dog say woof?”, “why are the snowdrops white?” by the time I got the counter question “what if why didn’t exist?”.

Curiosity can be daunting, especially if you are an adult that is expected to have all the answers. But curiosity must be treasured and encouraged throughout life. Curiosity is what makes us alive, allows us to continuously grow, learn, try new things. It simply makes life a lot more fun. Curious beings come across as younger, their eyes lit up with excitement, the excitement to learn something they don’t already know, an opportunity to expand their knowledge and being, beyond what and who they are today.

Some questions can be very challenging to receive, at least if you are expected to have one true answer and often also an answer that meets the expectation of the one asking the question. But what if you receive questions with just as much curiosity as the question itself? It could turn into a fun explorative journey, with possibly many true wonderful answers.

Are you curious?

Be aware of Bias!

Bias is always there lurking in the back of your mind, trying to please you by confirming what you already think you know. Bias is there to make you feel proud of yourself, proud that you already knew the answer. Bias deprives you from new experiences, new knowledge and growth. Stop listening to Bias and instead open your mind for new thoughts, new knowledge, different opinions, possibilities and the unknown.

Be qurious!

curious or intrusive?

There is a fine line between being curious and being intrusive. Qurious with a Q is only about the good hearted curious, curious for the better good. It’s not about trying to figure out details about someone so that you can use it to their disadvantage. Qurious is when you are eager to learn something new so that you can grow, be a better you and be more helpful in this world, able to be of better service to this world. Qurious is related to joy, love, playfulness and growth.

Qurious is also about listening carefully. Sometimes curiosity needs to be contained and developed slowly. The environment needs to be ready for the level and depth of curiosity. Often curiosity needs to be unwrapped and revealed one layer at the time. It’s a tender and delicate activity…

Why The colour Pink?

As the brand for Qurious was developed there was a strong attraction to the colour pink. Not the baby pink but the fluorescent neon nuance of pink. The brave, active, make a statement, here I am - type of pink.

When I google the meaning of pink I get the following result: Pink stands for universal love of oneself and others, it stands for friendship, affection, harmony, inner peace and approachability. It symbolises youth, good health and playfulness and its nurturing femininity.

Yep - Pink it is…
