QuranPlay respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how QuranPlay collects, uses, and protects information when you use our app.
QuranPlay is a Quran audio listening app that provides recitations, playlists, synced Quran text, tafsir features, ambient sounds, downloads, Quran For You, Global Recitation, Quran
First, and other listening tools.
By using QuranPlay, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
Information We Collect
QuranPlay may collect the following types of information:
1. App Usage Data
We may collect basic app activity, such as:
- Recitations played
- Listening history
- Favorite reciters
- Playlists created
- Downloads selected
- App settings and preferences
- Quran First listening goal progress
This helps the app remember your preferences and improve your listening experience.
2. Quran For You Requests
If you use Quran For You or Deep Reflection, the text you type may be sent to our backend and AI providers to generate personalized Quran recommendations or reflections.
Do not enter sensitive personal information if you do not want it processed.
3. Subscription Information
QuranPlay uses RevenueCat and Apple in-app purchases to manage subscriptions. We do not directly collect or store your payment card details. Payments are handled by Apple.
We may receive subscription status information, such as whether your account has active premium access.
4. Screen Time / Quran First Permissions
If you choose to enable Quran First, QuranPlay may use Apple Screen Time APIs to help you select and temporarily restrict apps based on your Quran listening goal.
QuranPlay does not see the full contents of your other apps, messages, photos, or private activity. Screen Time permissions are controlled by Apple and can be changed in iOS
settings.
5. Global Recitation
If you join Global Recitation, QuranPlay may use general region or country-level information to show aggregated listening activity. We do not show individual users, exact GPS
location, usernames, or personal identity on the global map.
6. Technical Data
We may collect basic technical information such as:
- Device type
- App version
- Crash or error information
- Network request status
- Performance logs
This helps us fix bugs and improve reliability.
How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Provide Quran audio playback
- Save your playlists, favorites, downloads, and settings
- Generate Quran For You recommendations
- Sync Quran text and tafsir experiences
- Manage premium access
- Improve app performance and reliability
- Maintain Quran First habit features
- Show aggregated global listening statistics
Third-Party Services
QuranPlay may use third-party services, including:
- Apple App Store and In-App Purchases
- RevenueCat for subscription management
- AI providers for Quran For You and reflection generation
- Cloud storage/CDN providers for audio and app content
- Backend hosting providers for app services
These services may process limited information necessary to provide their functionality.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data.
We may share limited data only when necessary to:
- Operate app features
- Process subscriptions
- Provide AI-generated recommendations
- Fix technical issues
- Comply with legal obligations
Data Storage
Some data may be stored locally on your device, such as downloads, preferences, playlists, listening history, and app settings.
Some data may be stored on our servers when needed for features such as Quran For You, Global Recitation, lyrics generation, tafsir audio, or backend caching.
Children’s Privacy
QuranPlay is suitable for general audiences. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent.
Your Choices
You can:
- Delete app data by uninstalling the app
- Remove downloaded audio from app settings
- Turn off notifications in iOS settings
- Disable Quran First / Screen Time access in iOS settings
- Cancel subscriptions through your Apple ID subscription settings
Subscriptions
QuranPlay Premium is managed through Apple in-app purchases. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID settings.
Deleting the app does not automatically cancel a subscription.
Security
We use reasonable technical measures to protect information. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
