Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 2025
QuickTool (“we”, “us”, or “our”) values your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Permissions
We request the following Android permissions solely to support core features of our apps (including AppLock, Flash Alert, GPS Tracker, etc.).
We do not collect or transmit personal data beyond what is described here.
Common Permissions (used across multiple apps)
READ_PHONE_STATE – Detects incoming calls to trigger flashlight alerts. No call content or personal data is stored or shared.
QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES – Identifies installed apps to enable specific alert or app-locking features. No other app data is collected.
BIND_NOTIFICATION_LISTENER_SERVICE – Detects incoming notifications for activating flashlight alerts or lock triggers. You can enable/disable this anytime in Settings.
ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION & ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION – Used only for location-based features (e.g. GPS tracking or location sharing). You control when and with whom your location is shared.
AppLock-Specific Permissions
USE_BIOMETRIC / USE_FINGERPRINT – Allows unlocking apps using your fingerprint or device biometrics. No biometric data is ever stored or transmitted by us.
PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS – Required to detect and lock selected apps securely. This permission is used locally and no usage data leaves your device.
SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW (Display over other apps) – Needed to show the lock screen overlay when a protected app is opened. No user data is recorded.
FOREGROUND_SERVICE_SPECIAL_USE – Ensures AppLock runs continuously and performs stable background protection even under battery optimization.
CAMERA – Allows you to capture intruder photos if someone tries to unlock a protected app. Images remain stored locally on your device.
READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE / WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE – Lets you select custom lock backgrounds and save captured intruder photos. Files remain on your local storage.
ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE & INTERNET – Used to check network connectivity and serve non-personalized ads or analytics.
SET_WALLPAPER – Allows users to personalize lock screen wallpaper within AppLock.
All permissions are used only to support core functionality and never for hidden data collection.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Device & Usage Data
Device ID (e.g. Android ID) for session management, security, and fraud prevention.
App usage events (e.g. when a locked app is opened) are processed locally and never uploaded to any server.
2.2 User‑Provided Data
User Name & Phone Number to create your profile and enable “friend code” pairing.
Photos selected for wallpaper or captured by intruder detection are stored only on the device.
2.3 Location Data
Foreground & Background Location only when you have explicitly enabled “Allow tracking this device” (see Section 3).
Used exclusively for:
Real‑time mutual location sharing
Custom safe‑zone alerts
Nearby place discovery
We do not share your location with anyone who has not both:
Exchanged a valid friend code with you, and
You have toggled on “Allow tracking this device.”
3. Location Sharing & Consent
Mutual Opt‑In: Location is shared only after both parties exchange friend codes and both enable “Allow tracking this device.”
Toggle Control: You can disable sharing at any time by turning off the “Allow tracking this device” switch in Profile. When off, no location data is collected or transmitted.
App Locking: Protects your chosen apps using PIN, pattern, or fingerprint. Locking actions are handled locally and not sent to external servers.
Intruder Selfie: If enabled, AppLock may take a photo when a wrong password is entered. These photos remain stored in local storage.
Customization: You can apply themes, wallpapers, and unlock styles. No image data is uploaded.
Stability: AppLock may request “Auto-start” permission to keep protection active even in low-battery conditions.
5. Mutual Friend‑Code Flow
Generate Code: You create a unique friend code (or QR) in your Profile.
Exchange Codes: Trusted contacts enter or scan your code in “Add Friend.”
Activate Sharing: Both users must enable “Allow tracking this device.”
Start Tracking: Only then will real‑time locations be visible to each other.
6. User Information
User Name: Collected to personalize the app experience and allow users to identify friends.
Phone Number: Used for account creation, friend verification, or contact-based features. Not publicly visible without consent.
7. Device Information
Device ID (such as Android ID): Collected for security, analytics, and fraud prevention purposes. This helps maintain a unique session and detect suspicious activity.
