Summary
QuickCut Audio Editor is an on-device audio editor. Every audio file you open, edit or export is processed entirely on your phone or tablet. Your audio is never uploaded to us or to anyone else. The app has no accounts and no sign-in. The only data that leaves your device is what the Google advertising SDK uses to show ads, as described below.
Your audio files
When you open an audio file, extract audio from a video or join files, the app makes a working copy inside its own private storage on your device so that edits can be undone. These working copies never leave your device. They are deleted when you delete a project or uninstall the app.
The app only reads files you choose yourself with the Android file picker, or files you share to the app. It does not scan your storage.
When you tap "Save to Music" or "Save as ringtone", the exported file is saved to the Music or Ringtones folder on your device. When you tap "Share", the file is handed to the app you choose, and that app's own privacy policy applies from then on.
Permissions
Internet and network state: used only by the Google Mobile Ads SDK and the consent form to load ads. Editing works fully offline.
Storage (Android 9 and below only): used only to save an exported file to your Music or Ringtones folder when you ask for it. On Android 10 and newer no storage permission is needed.
The app does not use your microphone, camera, contacts or location.
Advertising
The free app shows ads provided by Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK). To show and measure ads, the SDK may collect and share with Google:
- your device's advertising ID and other device identifiers,
- general device information such as model, operating system version and language,
- ad interaction information such as ads shown and ads tapped,
- approximate location derived from your IP address.
This data is processed by Google under Google's own privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
How Google uses data from apps that use its services: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
Consent (EEA, UK and Switzerland)
If you are in a region where consent is required, the app shows Google's consent form before any ad is requested, and you can choose whether ads may be personalised. You can change your choice at any time in the app under Settings, Ad privacy options. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in your Android device settings.
Optional rewarded ads
The highest export quality can be unlocked by watching a short video ad. This is always optional; all other export qualities are free.
Data we collect
We, the developer, do not collect, store or sell any personal data. We have no servers that receive your audio or your usage.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Data retention and deletion
All project data stays on your device. You can delete individual projects in the app, or remove everything by uninstalling the app or clearing its storage in Android settings. Data processed by Google for advertising is handled under Google's policies linked above.
Security
Your projects are stored in the app's private storage, which other apps cannot read. Communication between the Google Mobile Ads SDK and Google is encrypted in transit.
