Here, we have compiled the main photos taken at the 2021 Santa Monica Queer Prom. First, we have the photos taken by Maya Myers, and following these, we have the photos taken by one of our wonderful volunteers, Carmen Lau. If you are looking to hire a photographer anytime soon, we have linked each of their respective websites to their names next to the photos they took. The pictures are attached within Google Drive folders, which I know may not be fully intuitive, but I promise they're simple enough to use! Just hover your cursor over the folder's window (the box the images are in) and click on the arrow in the upper-right-hand corner. This will open the full folder in your own Google Drive! Finally, we've included the YouTube links to some video-slideshows, put together by Sahbynah Dalia from the Church in Ocean Park, using the photos Maya Myers took.
I also want to take a moment to thank everyone who made this event possible:
Our generous sponsors: The Church in Ocean Park, Santa Monica Travel and Tourism, the City of Santa Monica, the Annenberg Community Beach House, and Back on the Beach Café.
Our wonderful volunteers who came from all over to help us set up, to ensure the event was safe, and to help us take everything down and store it for future use.
The vendors- our photographer, Maya Myers, our DJ, Ash McCormick, and the Back on the Beach Café staff- who made this event so wonderful, and the journalists- Clara Harter from SMDP, and Chace Beech from Spectrum LA- who helped make this event even more known.
And, of course, all the work would've been pointless were it not for our incredible guests. We were overwhelmed and overjoyed by the interest in our event and by the turnout, and I, for one, could not be more proud of how this turned out, with every guest and volunteer I've spoken to coming away with such exciting memories. On a personal note, I graduated this year, so this was my last project as a GSA Co-President, and I couldn't have hoped for a better send-off-- but I digress. To our guests: we did all of this for you and are so glad you enjoyed it, and we hope to see you at our future events!
Sincerely,
