As a Zero-Data-Collection application, we do not require any account creation, registration, or personal identification to use our services.
2. Information We DO NOT Collect
To ensure your absolute privacy, Qualityscankaro specifically does not collect, store, or share any of the following:
•Personal Identity Information: We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or physical address.
•User Accounts: There is no login or profile system. Your usage is entirely anonymous.
•Scan History: We do not maintain a database of your scanned products or results.
•Gallery Access: We do not access or store your personal photos or media from your device's gallery.
3. Data Processing & Technology (Local ML)
Unlike traditional AI scanners that upload your data to the cloud, Qualityscankaro operates using On-Device Machine Learning:
•Local OCR (Optical Character Recognition): When you take a photo of an ingredients label or nutrition table, the text is extracted and analyzed locally on your smartphone using Google ML Kit.
•Image Handling: The images captured via the camera are stored in a temporary system cache. They are not uploaded to our servers, not shared with third parties, and are automatically deleted as soon as you exit the scan result screen.
4. Information We Collect Automatically & Third-Party Services
To maintain app performance, resolve crashes, and support ongoing maintenance through advertisements, we use limited, industry-standard third-party SDKs:
• Google Mobile Ads (AdMob - Google LLC):
Our app displays advertisements powered by Google AdMob (Banner, Interstitial, and Native Ads). Google AdMob may collect and process anonymous device identifiers (such as Android Advertising ID / GAID), coarse location, and app interaction data to serve contextual or personalized advertisements and prevent fraudulent traffic. You can manage or reset your advertising ID anytime via your Android device settings (Settings > Google > Ads).

• Google Firebase (Analytics & Crashlytics):
We collect anonymous diagnostic logs, device hardware model, operating system version, and crash stack traces to detect bugs. This data contains zero personally identifiable information (PII).
• Open Facts Ecosystem:
Numerical barcode queries and ingredient lookups are sent to independent databases (Open Food Facts, Open Beauty Facts, Open Products Facts) to fetch public nutritional details.
5. Third-Party API Integration
Our app connects to the Open Facts API ecosystem (including Open Food Facts, Open Beauty Facts, and Open Products Facts) to fetch product data. When you use the Barcode Scanner, the numerical barcode string is sent to these independent databases to retrieve relevant nutritional or safety information. Each of these open-source projects maintains its own independent privacy policy.
6. Children’s Privacy
Qualityscankaro is an information tool and is safe for all ages. However, we do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13. Since no personal data is collected from any user, we are fully compliant with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

Under global privacy frameworks, including the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):

Qualityscankaro is an AI-powered informational tool designed to provide factual transparency about consumer products across Food, Beauty, Fitness, and Household categories. The App performs the following functions:
• Smart Dual-Scanning: Utilizing a tiered system of Barcode Scanning (fetching data from open-source databases) and AI Ingredients Scan (performing local on-device OCR on the physical packaging label).
• Factual Reporting: Analyzing ingredient lists and nutrition tables based on third-party scientific and regulatory databases.
• Global Safety & Ban Audits: Generating safety estimates and identifying substances banned or restricted by international regulatory bodies (WHO, EU EFSA, US FDA, California AB 418, WADA).
• AI Auto-Audit: Automatically generating fresh safety assessments for products with missing or incomplete database entries.
3. NON-MEDICAL ADVICE DISCLAIMER (Crucial)
•Educational Purpose Only: All content provided by the App, including health scores, warnings, and alternative suggestions, is for informational and educational purposes only.
•Not a Medical Tool: The App is NOT a medical device. It does not provide medical, dermatological, or nutritional diagnosis, treatment, or advice.
•No Professional Relationship: Use of the App does not create a doctor-patient, nutritionist-client, or any other professional-patient relationship.

•OCR Errors: Our AI uses Optical Character Recognition (OCR) to read labels. Accuracy depends on lighting, image quality, and packaging shape. The App may misread ingredients or miss certain terms.
•Data Validity: We fetch raw product data from the Open Facts ecosystem (including Open Food, Beauty, and Products Facts) and other global scientific sources. We do not guarantee that this third-party data is 100% accurate, regional, or up-to-date.
•Manufacturer Changes: Product formulations change frequently. The physical label on the product you hold is the final authority. Always prioritize reading the physical packaging over the App's digital result.
•Interaction Risk: Flags regarding chemical interactions (e.g., Benzene risk) are based on scientific theories. They do not confirm the actual presence of a chemical reaction in a specific manufactured batch.
5. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the developer of Qualityscankaro shall NOT be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including but not limited to:
•Allergic reactions or health issues arising from product consumption or use.
•Decisions made based on the App’s health scores or alerts.
•Loss of data or technical failures.
•Reliance on any information provided by the App. Usage is entirely at your own risk.
6. Intellectual Property & Trademarks
•App Ownership: All code, design, and logic within Qualityscankaro are the intellectual property of the developer.
•Third-Party Trademarks: All product names, logos, and brands detected during scans are the property of their respective owners. Qualityscankaro is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any brand or manufacturer mentioned in the App.
7. User Responsibility
Users are responsible for ensuring they have the necessary permissions to use the device's camera. You agree not to use the App for any unlawful purposes or to reverse-engineer its logic.

Qualityscankaro is an independent project. Our health audits are performed autonomously by our AI. We are not paid by any brand to promote or downgrade their products. Our only loyalty is to the scientific data.
