Subscriptions — manage, cancel, refund, restore
How do I cancel my subscription?
iOS Settings → tap your name at the top → Subscriptions → QR Reader → Cancel Subscription. You keep Pro until the end of the current billing period. No fees for cancelling.
How do I get a refund?
Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us. Visit https://reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple ID, find the QR Reader purchase, and request a refund. Apple decides each refund case based on their App Store refund policy.
How do I restore my purchase on a new device?
Sign in with the same Apple ID that made the purchase, open QR Reader → Settings → Restore Purchases. Pro reactivates automatically. No login is required inside the app.
Will my subscription auto-renew?
Yes. Monthly and Yearly subscriptions auto-renew at the price of the chosen plan until you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Lifetime is a one-time purchase and never renews.

Does my data leave my phone?
No. QR Reader has no servers. Your library lives only on your device(s), with optional sync through your personal iCloud (Apple's CloudKit Private Database). The developer cannot see, access, or receive your codes. See the Privacy Policy (https://sites.google.com/view/qrreader-pp) for full detail.
The paywall keeps showing up — how do I stop it?
The paywall appears once per cold launch for free users and when tapping Pro-only features. To make it stop entirely, either upgrade to Pro or just dismiss it with the X in the top-left when it appears. It will not block scanning.
Scanning (always free)
The camera screen is black.
Make sure the app has camera permission: iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera → QR Reader → On. Also check the camera works in another app.
A code won't scan from camera.
Try: more even lighting, hold the phone steady ~10–30 cm away, fill ~50% of the frame with the code, clean the camera lens. For codes on glossy or curved surfaces, reduce reflections.
Can I scan from a screenshot?
Yes — switch to From Photo mode and pick the screenshot.
Why doesn't my Wi-Fi QR auto-join?
iOS only allows automatic Wi-Fi join when the QR contains valid credentials and the user explicitly taps Join. Personal hotspot QRs sometimes don't include the right security parameters. Try copying the password and joining manually.
Designing & generating (Pro)
Why is "Design" locked?
The Design Studio is a Pro feature. Tap Unlock Pro in Settings, or tap the Design button to open the paywall directly.
Why is the Barcode card locked?
Barcode generation is Pro. Tap the locked Barcode card on the Create tab to open the paywall.
Can I see what the Design Studio looks like before buying?
The paywall preview lists every Pro feature with icons. We don't currently show a live demo of the Design Studio in the free tier — this protects the perceived value of Pro. If you'd like a video walkthrough, email us and we'll share one.
My QR has a logo and now scanners struggle.
Lower the logo coverage to 18% or less, increase error correction to High (H), and run the Test Scan feature in the toolbar to verify before exporting. The Scannability score also flags risky combinations.
Can I edit a saved code's content?
For now, you can re-design the style (Edit Design from the Library detail), but the underlying payload (URL, Wi-Fi, etc.) is fixed at creation. Coming in a future update.
SVG vs PDF vs PNG — which should I pick?
• PNG (1K/2K/4K/8K) — for screen, social, web, instant share
• SVG — for any size print, scales infinitely, smaller file
• PDF — for print-ready materials with bleed and margin
Library & sync (Pro)
My library is empty on my second device.
Library is a Pro feature. Both devices need to be signed into the same Apple ID, both signed into iCloud, and Pro must be active. iCloud sync happens when you open the app — give it a few seconds.
Why does it say "iCloud storage full"?
You've run out of free iCloud storage. Free up space at iOS Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage, or upgrade your iCloud plan. QR Reader takes very little space (typically a few MB), so this is usually caused by other apps.
The library is capped at 500 — why?
500 codes is enough for the vast majority of users, and it keeps the app fast on every device. If you genuinely need more, email us.
Brand Kit (Pro)
How do I create a Brand Kit?
In the Design Studio, set up your colors, modules, frame, logo, etc. Then tap the palette icon in the toolbar → Save as Brand Kit → name it. From any future Design Studio session, tap the same icon → Apply Brand Kit → pick the kit you saved.
My logo doesn't appear when I apply the kit on another device.
v1 Brand Kits store the logo file locally on the device where they were created. Cross-device logo sync is on the v1.x roadmap. For now, re-pick the logo on each device.
Batch from CSV (Pro file import; sample is free)
What's the CSV format?
Two columns: column 1 is the name (used for the saved file name), column 2 is the payload (the QR content). The first row should be the column headers.
My CSV is rejected.
Common issues: file isn't UTF-8 encoded, has more or fewer than 2 columns, uses tabs or semicolons instead of commas. Try the Try a sample button to see the expected format.
Where is the ZIP saved?
After generation, the iOS share sheet opens — pick Save to Files to drop it in iCloud Drive or your local Files, or AirDrop it to another device.
Privacy and security
Do you sell my data?
No. We have nothing to sell. We don't collect data.
Why does the app need Contacts permission?
It doesn't. When you scan a vCard and tap Add to Contacts, the app shows iOS's built-in Contact card preview — you confirm with one tap, and iOS handles the save. The app never reads your existing contacts.
Why does the app need Calendar permission?
Only write-only access, only when you scan an event QR and tap Add to Calendar. The app cannot read your existing events.
Troubleshooting
The app won't launch / crashes immediately after update.
Force-quit, restart the device, and try again. If still failing: delete the app and reinstall. Pro users' libraries resync from iCloud automatically once signed in.
Pro doesn't unlock after I bought it.
1. Make sure you're signed into the same Apple ID that made the purchase.
2. Connect to internet.
3. Open Settings → Restore Purchases.
