QR Link Jumper: Privacy Policy
Version 1.0.6 · Updated September 19, 2026
This policy applies to the Chrome extension named (QR Link Jumper). The publisher is the developer identified on its Chrome Web Store listing. For privacy questions and support, contact coco0166@hotmail.com.
Information processed
The extension reads image/canvas pixels, image URLs and display positions on permitted web pages to decode QR codes on your device. It displays open, copy and dismiss controls for HTTP/HTTPS links only. It does not request camera access, read your clipboard, create browsing-history records, include ads or analytics, or upload data to a developer-operated server.
Network requests and third parties
If pixels cannot be read directly, the extension may fetch the source image and follow redirects, then decode it locally. These requests omit login credentials (credentials: omit). Image hosts and redirected hosts receive your IP address, requested image URL and normal request information. Query parameters embedded in the image URL are still transmitted. HTTP image requests are not encrypted. Images and decoded results are not uploaded to a developer-operated server or third-party decoding service.
Opening a link visits its destination, whose privacy policy applies. Copying writes the full URL to the system clipboard, which other applications with clipboard access may read. Decoded destinations are not visited automatically.
Storage, retention and controls
Automatic scanning and new-tab preferences are stored in chrome.storage.sync and may be synchronized by Google when Chrome sync is enabled. QR contents and source image URLs are not written to sync storage. Up to 120 image decoding records are cached in background memory with a 10-minute validity period. Expired records become invalid on access but may remain in memory until eviction or background-process termination. Page overlays and dismissal state reside in page memory and reset on reload. Chrome may cache downloaded images under its own rules.
You can disable scanning, restrict site access in Chrome or uninstall the extension. Reloading clears page recognition state. The system clipboard, browser image cache and synced data are managed by the operating system or Google settings; uninstalling does not necessarily clear those external copies.
Purpose and changes
Information is used only to recognize QR codes and perform user-requested open/copy actions. We do not sell data or use it for advertising, credit decisions or unrelated purposes. The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Before introducing payments, accounts or new data practices, this policy will be updated and required disclosures and consent provided. This version is free and requires no account. It does not detect malicious destinations or guarantee link safety.
