I am an assistant professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Automation Engineering (MAE) at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Before that, I was a postdoctoral researcher in Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mechanics Department (MEAM) at University of Pennsylvania under the supervision of Prof. Jordan R. Raney. I obtained my Ph.D. from Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (MAE) Department at University of California, San Diego, advised by Prof. Shengqiang Cai. My research focus on the design and fabrication of soft robotic systems using novel soft materials and structures. I am interested in 1) soft actuating materials and structures, 2) Autonomous soft robot based on physical inteligence, 3) Advanced Manufacturing of soft actuators and flexible sensors, 4) Programmable metamaterials for mechanical computing. I published 25 papers in SCI-indexed journals, including Science Advances, Science Robotics, Nature Communications, Nature Computational Science, Advanced Materials, and JMPS.
