“Stuckness shouldn't be avoided. It's the psychic predecessor of all real understanding.” ― Robert Pirsig
I joined the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at Old Dominion University as an assistant professor in July 2024. Prior to that, I was an assistant professor at the Department of Computer and Information Sciences at Towson University starting in August 2021. I completed my Ph.D. dissertation defense under the supervision of Prof. Pan Li in the Department of Electrical, Computer, and Systems Engineering at Case Western Reserve University in 2021. I received the B.E. degree in Electrical Engineering from Wuhan University, China, in 2013, and the M.E. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology, Hoboken, NJ, in 2015, respectively.
My research interests include robust and secure deep learning networks, cybersecurity, security and privacy in distributed and decentralized systems, e.g., Cyber-Physical System (CPS) and Internet of Things (IoT), and related applications, e.g., smart transportation, smart city, and smart healthcare.
