If you want a rugged, metal cap to secure your 49cc-250cc scooter or pit bike tank against leaks and impact, choose QGQZIQG Motorcycle Fuel Gas; if you need a heat-resistant nylon replacement for your Nissan or Infiniti coolant system that fits OEM specs perfectly, choose RCPOWERCH Coolant Overflow Reservoir. These two parts serve entirely different mechanical worlds—one protects the heart of a small engine from fuel loss, while the other manages thermal pressure in a modern car's cooling loop. Choosing between them isn't about which is "better" in a vacuum; it is strictly about whether you are wrenching on a dirt bike or maintaining a family sedan.
For pet owners who might also be hobbyists with side vehicles, understanding this distinction is critical. A leaky gas cap on a moped can spill fuel near pets, creating a fire hazard, while a failing coolant reservoir cap on a car can lead to overheating that strands you. Both products solve specific, high-stakes problems, but they do not overlap in function.
• QGQZIQG: Built from premium metal for maximum impact resistance and structural stability, featuring a dual-protection latch and thickened seal ring; the trade-off is its strict limitation to GY6 series engines and 49cc-250cc vehicles only.
• RCPOWERCH: Engineered from high-strength black nylon plastic designed for extreme heat and corrosion resistance with exact OEM part number matching (21712-79900); the trade-off is its exclusive compatibility with specific Nissan and Infiniti models from 2003 to 2017.
• QGQZIQG is for riders of mopeds, ATVs, go-karts, and dirt bikes who need a durable, leak-proof closure for their fuel tanks.
• RCPOWERCH is for owners of Nissan and Infiniti vehicles needing a direct, no-modification replacement for a failing coolant overflow cap.
This product is designed specifically for the chaotic environment of off-road and small-engine transportation. If you ride a GY6 series scooter, a 139QMB/152QMI/157QMJ engine, or any vehicle ranging from 49cc up to 250cc, this cap is built to handle the abuse. Metal offers a level of impact resistance that plastic simply cannot match. When you are navigating rough terrain on a pit bike or a dirt bike, debris flies, and drops happen. A metal cap provides structural stability that prevents deformation, ensuring your fuel system remains sealed even after a tumble.
The design philosophy here centers on preventing fuel leakage through a robust sealing mechanism. This geometry is calculated to block air ingress effectively, keeping the fuel tank airtight. Furthermore, the inclusion of a sturdy latch that stays securely attached to the cap itself is a practical feature that prevents losing the piece when you open the tank. In real-world use, a lost gas cap is a nightmare scenario, especially for riders who might be far from home or working in tight spaces like a garage.

Who should buy this? You should buy this if you own a 50cc, 125cc, 150cc, or 200cc scooter, ATV, or go-kart that uses the standard GY6 mounting pattern. Before purchasing, you must measure your existing opening to ensure these figures align. If you are a pet owner who enjoys weekend trail riding, this metal upgrade adds a layer of safety by reducing the risk of fuel spills near animals due to cap failure. However, if you drive a car or truck, or if your engine displacement exceeds 250cc, this product is useless to you. It is a niche solution for a very specific set of machines.
In contrast to the heavy-duty metal requirement of motorcycle fuel systems, the RCPOWERCH unit addresses the thermal management needs of passenger vehicles. This component is a direct replacement for the coolant overflow reservoir cap, identified by the part number 21712-79900. Its primary job is to maintain seal integrity under extreme engine temperatures without cracking or degrading. The material choice here is high-strength nylon plastic, which is specifically selected for its ability to resist heat and corrosion. Unlike metal, which can rust or corrode in the chemical environment of a coolant system, this engineered plastic maintains its properties over time, ensuring the cooling system remains pressurized correctly.
The fitment scope is extensive but rigidly defined. This cap is compatible with a wide array of Nissan and Infiniti models produced between 2003 and 2017. This includes the Infiniti EX35, FX37, G35, Q70, QX50, and various Nissan vehicles like the Murano, Rogue, Quest, Versa, Cube, Leaf, NV200, and Juke. The precision engineering ensures it matches OEM specifications exactly, meaning installation requires no modifications. You simply remove the old cap and install this one. The manufacturer notes that every cap undergoes factory testing and pre-shipment verification to confirm proper fitment and functionality. This quality control step is crucial because a loose coolant cap can lead to rapid overheating, steam, and potential engine damage.
Who is this for? It is exclusively for owners of the listed Nissan and Infiniti vehicles. If your 2010 Nissan Versa or 2015 Infiniti G37 is showing signs of a leaking coolant reservoir cap, this is the part you need. The color is black, matching the original aesthetic, and the package includes one unit. While it lacks the brute strength of the metal motorcycle cap, its value lies in its chemical resistance and precise dimensional accuracy for automotive applications. For a pet owner who relies on their daily driver to get to work or the vet, having a reliable cooling system component that won't fail under heat stress is essential. If you do not own one of the compatible cars, this part will not fit your vehicle's radiator neck, regardless of how well it is made.
• Best for Impact Resistance → QGQZIQG Motorcycle Fuel Gas: The metal construction offers superior protection against physical blows compared to the plastic alternative.
• Best for Heat and Corrosion Resistance → RCPOWERCH Coolant Overflow Reservoir: High-strength nylon is specifically formulated to withstand the chemicals and high temperatures of automotive cooling systems.
• Best for Small Engine Applications (49cc-250cc) → QGQZIQG Motorcycle Fuel Gas: Designed specifically for GY6 series and similar engines found on scooters and pit bikes.
• Best for Passenger Vehicle Cooling Systems → RCPOWERCH Coolant Overflow Reservoir: Compatible with a broad range of Nissan and Infiniti sedans and crossovers from 2003-2017.
• Best for Leak Prevention via Latch Design → QGQZIQG Motorcycle Fuel Gas: Includes a unique feature where the latch stays attached to the cap, preventing loss during maintenance.
• Best for Direct OEM Replacement → RCPOWERCH Coolant Overflow Reservoir: Manufactured to exact part numbers (21712-79900) with no modification required for installation.
• Best for Heavy-Duty Structural Stability → QGQZIQG Motorcycle Fuel Gas: Premium metal prevents deformation that plastic might suffer under heavy impacts.
• Best for Chemical Longevity → RCPOWERCH Coolant Overflow Reservoir: Nylon resists the corrosive nature of coolant fluids better than untreated metals might.
I would choose the QGQZIQG Motorcycle Fuel Gas if I were restoring my vintage moped or building a custom go-kart, primarily because the metal construction feels significantly more robust against the rigors of off-road use. Conversely, I would select the RCPOWERCH Coolant Overflow Reservoir if I were maintaining my daily commuter car, as the nylon material is clearly optimized for the chemical and thermal demands of a modern cooling system. For a pet owner who happens to own both types of vehicles, the decision is never ambiguous: match the part to the machine. The motorcycle cap saves you from fuel spills and debris damage, while the automotive cap saves your engine from overheating. Do not try to force either into a role it was not designed for; the specifications are too distinct.
