Qfinity representatives were glad to be invited to attend Latitude 59. Latitude 59 is the leading tech event in the fast-growing Nordic and Baltic region that connects with promising startups, driven investors and inspiring founders that have made Estonia the country with the highest number of unicorns per capita in Europe. It also brings together e-residents that benefit from the numerous opportunities that the country has while not living here full time which allows many startup founders to access the local tech ecosystem.
As this was the 10th anniversary of Latitude 59, the opportunities for entrepreneurs, investors and leaders to learn, connect and network were more numerous than ever. The theme of the event was DIVERSITY and PURPOSE, which was clearly showcased by more than 5000 participants joining from all over the world.
The event also highlighted Estonia’s growing green technologies and interest in maintaining its sustainable growth.
We also got the chance to witness the growing partnership between European and Asian countries through the active participation of the Nordic Asian Venture Alliance, Shibuya Startup Support, City of Kobe, Japan (KTIO), NordicNinja VC and Yolo Group.
The City of Tallinn’s aims at becoming a CO2-neutral city environment through growing digital services - self-driving cars, delivery robots and solar-panelled pavements. Local innovation in this area is made possible by the active endorsement of the government and universities empowering talents to explore this industry.
We also had the opportunity to explore the inclusive startup ecosystem by visiting Draper Startup House Estonia, a place for digital nomad entrepreneurs. LIFT99 is also a great co-working space that gathers incredible startups and ideas flow through events.
