Recent GSLIS graduate Alexandra Dolan-Mescal’s work has just been accepted for publication. Her paper, “A Digital File Inventory on the Queens College Special Collections and Archives: Findings, Analysis, and Recommendations for Long-Term Preservation,” written as a collaborative effort with other GSLIS students, is a great contribution to not only Queens College, but to the library field as a whole.

Alexandra has also been giving presentations in archival studies:

• 2013 (with QC student Christopher Arena): Society of American Archivists Annual Conference, Student Poster Presentation “Creating an Ethical Digital Presence for Zines”

• 2013: Society of American Archivists Annual Conference, Panelist on “Occupy Archives” lightning round panel

• 2013 (with QC students Sara Howard and Jessica Rozler): Renmin University, Beijing – International Digital Memory Alliance, weeklong lecture series “Digital Memory”

• 2014: METRO 2nd Annual Conference, Presenter on “Innovative Internship Grant Award: Building the Queens College Archiving Occupy Project” – based on grant received in Spring 2013.
