GSLIS graduate and librarian at Bay Shore High School in Sayville, NY, Amy Jo Southworth has won the 2013 Frances Henne Award. The award recognizes leadership qualities in high school librarians with up to five years experience. In the 2013 March/April issue of American Libraries she is has been cited as an “emerging leader.” Southworth also works as Bay Shore High School’s building representative for their Common Core Standards literacy training and is the president of Suffolk School Library Media Association.
