This Site Is Dedicated To Jerry & Chet South

Proudly Serving More Than 50 Years of Active Service

This site is dedicated to our longtime Chaplain C. Powel South and his wife “Jerry”.

“Chet” joined the company in May of 1953 and Jerry joined the Ladies Auxiliary shortly thereafter. Both members have held numerous offices during that time.

Chet and Jerry stand as a symbol of what it truly means to be a “dedicated volunteer” and we would like to express our sincerest appreciation to them for showing us the way.

"I have no ambition in this world but one

and that is to be a fireman…

The position may in the eyes of some

appear to be a lowly one…

But those who know the work

which a fireman has to do

believe his is a noble calling…

Our proudest moment is to save lives…

Under the impulse of such thoughts

the nobility of the occupation thrills us

and stimulates us to deeds of daring…

Even of supreme sacrifice…"
