Trick Me 2

Tl;dr: We’re looking for some people to write ten quiz bowl questions next week for $100 and give us feedback on a question writing interface.

I’m a professor who uses trivia as a way to improve how computers answer questions. I also use question answering in my classes about natural language processing.

One of our projects is to help trivia writers write questions that aren’t too easy for computers. We had a previous version of this:

We’re trying to do this again with a better, more robust interface. We’re looking for some people to test out the system and give feedback on the system. We’d like to find some people who can write ten quiz bowl questions next week (submit them all by midnight Eastern Dec 10, 2021). We’re willing to pay people $100 for the questions (must be written from scratch and cannot be resubmitted elsewhere, as we want to use them for an online event on Dec 15). The target difficulty is between high school nationals and ICT.

If you’d like to do this, please send an e-mail to jordanbg@gmail.com with a couple of sample questions you’ve written in the past, the subject line “TRICK2 WRITING”, and after a brief review of your past questions, we’ll get back to you with a link to the writing interface and confirm that you’re on. In addition to writing questions, we’ll also ask you questions about your experience (what you liked, what you didn’t, what new features you’d like).
