About Me:
As a seasoned expert in the Health, Social & Environmental (HSE) department, I've played a pivotal role in ensuring Shwe Taung Cement's compliance with local regulations and international standards, including the International Finance Corporation (IFC) performance standards and the World Bank Group's Environmental, Health, and Safety Guidelines. My work involves collaborating closely with NGOs, Government Agencies, and the IFC, fostering community support networks, and facilitating seamless engagement.
I specialize in crafting and implementing comprehensive engagement frameworks, addressing key performance indicators such as Environmental & Social Management Plan (ESMP), Stakeholder Engagement Plan (SEP), Stakeholder Grievance Mechanisms (SGM), Community Development Plan (CDP), and Community Health Program (CHP). My expertise extends to stakeholders mapping, grievance handling, and community problem-solving.
Education and Background:
I am a native of Myanmar, a place close to my heart, and a nation grappling with complex challenges. My passion for peaceful societal development led me to pursue a Bachelor's degree in English, followed by a postgraduate degree in the same field. My quest for knowledge took me to Chiang Mai University, Thailand, where I earned a Master’s degree in Economics, supported by a scholarship from Bangkok Bank. My journey continued with a Master’s in Public Administration, where I honed my skills in ethical conduct promotion and community communication during my tenure at a cement plant.
Current Pursuits:
The recent political upheaval in Myanmar forced me to continue my studies abroad. I am currently pursuing my second Master’s degree in a climate of resilience at Khon Kaen University in Thailand, simultaneously serving as a part-time intern at the Mekong Institute—an intergovernmental organization collaborating across six nations. This experience has enriched my understanding of regional development challenges and underscored the importance of international cooperation.
Education Timeline:
Bachelor of Arts in English, Jan 2013
Postgraduate Diploma in English, Jan 2015
Master of Economics, Jan 2018
Education in Progress:
Master of Public Administration, (June 2019 - Feb 2021) Left University in the final year of MPA after military coup
Master of Rural Development Management, (July 2022 - Current)
Future Aspirations:
In conclusion, my unwavering dedication fuels my eagerness to further my education at a University and contribute to Sustainable Development Studies. With a diverse background, rigorous education, and extensive experience, I am poised to drive meaningful change. I am committed to addressing pressing global issues like climate change and social inequality, working towards a brighter future for Myanmar and the world.
