PWS Display is a display app for your own personal weather station. It has no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and it does not share data with data brokers.

What stays on your device
Access credentials for your weather-station provider (API keys, tokens, and the OAuth tokens for Netatmo) are stored only in the app's private storage on this device. They are never transmitted to the developer.
Measurement history. Readings fetched from your station are stored in a local database on the device so that charts can be drawn over time. The retention window is configurable in the app.
Settings such as units, refresh interval and the night window.
You can delete this data at any time: Disconnect on the provider's setup screen removes the stored credentials and the station, Settings → History → Delete collected history removes the stored readings, and uninstalling the app removes everything.
Connections to your weather-station provider
The app talks directly to the provider you configure. There is no server of the developer's in between. Each request carries the credentials you entered and, unavoidably, your device's IP address to that provider. Which data the provider processes is governed by its own privacy policy:

For Netatmo, signing in uses OAuth in the system browser: you authenticate with Netatmo directly, and the app only ever receives the resulting access and refresh tokens. Your Netatmo password is never seen by the app.
Support requests
The only case in which data reaches the developer is a support request you send yourself from Menu → Support. When you tap Send, the following is transmitted over an encrypted connection to the support endpoint wwbackend.azurewebsites.net, hosted on Microsoft Azure ("West Europe"):
the e-mail address you enter, so that you can receive an answer;
your problem description;
the diagnostic values shown on the form that you leave ticked: app version, station type, station name, language, and selected units. Each can be unticked before sending.
Credentials, tokens and measurement data are never part of a support request. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (handling your enquiry) and, as far as the technical diagnostic values are concerned, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in diagnosing the reported problem). Support requests are deleted once the enquiry has been dealt with, at the latest after one year. Nothing is sent unless you complete the form and tap Send.
Permissions
The app requests no location, camera, contacts or microphone access. It keeps the screen awake while it is in the foreground, which is the purpose of an always-on display.
Children
The app is not directed at children and collects no data about them.
Your rights
You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection regarding data processed by the developer. Since credentials and history never leave your device, these rights are relevant in practice only to support requests; write to info@whatweather.de. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.
This page
This privacy policy is hosted on Google Sites. When you open it, Google processes technical access data and sets cookies; Google's own privacy notice applies (https://policies.google.com/privacy). This has no effect on the app itself.
