National Honor Society is a nationwide organization for high school students based on four criteria: scholarship, leadership, service, and character.
What does the National Honor Society do?
The purpose of the National Honor Society is to elevate students' and schools' academics, leadership, and community engagement. At Putnam we meet monthly and complete community service as an organization as well as work on leadership and character building. We have activities at each meeting to focus on the four NHS pillars listed above.
What does it mean to be a member of the National Honor Society?
Being a member of the National Honor Society shows that you are among the best students in your class, not just in terms of academics but also in terms of leadership, service, and character. It shows a commitment to community service projects and provides you the opportunity to network with like-minded peers.
