The Rice Purity Test is a one-hundred-question survey that assesses a person’s level of innocence in the domain of worldly vices, with a score of 100 being the most pure and 0 being the least pure.
It includes risqué questions on sex, drugs, crime, deceit and other activities considered non-virtuous.
The questions are answered by an individual themselves, simply having to select ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ for each question. The survey originated in Rice University, Houston, Texas in 1924 to gauge students’ level of maturity and to help them bond with each other. The Rice Purity Test has undergone several refinements over the years to reach its modern form. It has long since found a life online and is a popular way of having some fun with friends.

Very few people fall into this band. If you have scored between 100 to 98, you are the purest one in this day and age.
You are averagely pure. You have probably engaged in french kissing or have gone down on someone.
Your purity is very tainted. You have probably consumed hardcore drugs, been to jail, and/or had sex in public.
Most purity tests have possible scores anywhere from 0% to 100%. Purity tests ask numerous personal questions of their users, most commonly about the use of alcohol and illicit substances; sexual acts with members of the opposite or same-sex; other illicit or illegal activities, and the above actions in an odd or "kinky" context. These tests typically have anywhere from 50 to 2000 questions.
Many popular purity tests encourage participation in a social situation (one person reading a purity test aloud while others mark down their "yeses" for later tabulation). The tests often acknowledge that some may use them as a checklist for things to do, try, or accomplish.
One of the best-known purity tests is The Unisex Purity Test (or, simply, the Purity Test). First written before 1980 in the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Baker House, the first incarnation had two parallel versions, 100 questions each; one for male, and one for female.
The next iteration (247 questions, written at Carnegie Mellon University in 1983) heralded the merging of the gendered versions, making it unisex. Over the next decade or so, many re-writes and expansions commenced, a 2000-question version being written in 1995.
In more recent times, versions of the classic test have been developed for new platforms, such as a purity test for Tik Tok and Facebook applications. Recently, during the Covid-19 pandemic period, the Purity test went viral and over 1.5 million people took the test in 24 hours.
The updated version of the Purity test is known as the Innocence test. Some similar tests to the Purity test are Wattpad Rice Purity Test, True Asian Test, High School Purity Test, etc.
