Betrayal of Childhood Friends

Childhood friendship feels so light and effortless.

We speak without thinking, get offended while playing, never worry if someone feels comfortable with us. We share candy, call each other at midnight just to talk, and spend all our pocket money on gifts.

Going to the bathroom or even showering together after sports seems normal and not embarrassing, doesn’t it?

We laugh sincerely, we trust, we enjoy every moment together.

But time changes everything.

As kids, our dreams seem guaranteed to come true — we just need to wait a little, and the Universe will turn all its stars to light our path.
Then come the rejections — one after another — and something inside us breaks.

Why keep trying when nothing works for so long?

We open our hearts to friends… and suddenly realize:
– someone secretly envies another’s success
– someone starts competing instead of supporting
– another downplays your achievements
– and someone else admits they never expected more from you anyway.

In the end, you find support not from your old friends, but from random strangers online — people you’ve exchanged just a few comments with.

Time goes by, conversations fade, and you drift apart.
Did your friendship survive?

When I was creating the story Witch’s Pie, I wanted to explore something deeply human — something everyone can relate to.
As children, we don’t notice our differences or personal boundaries. We see things simply, without suspicion or comparison.

In Witch’s Pie, Rui often criticizes Meffi, and Meffi disagrees with Rui — but not because they’re enemies. They grow up together, and despite the conflicts, they still only have each other.

This story explores friendship, betrayal, and growing up — how pure childhood connections slowly transform as life tests our dreams and loyalty.

✨ I’ve planned many more emotional moments like this in Witch’s Pie.
You’re welcome to read the story and follow the journey of Rui and Meffi — two friends facing the magic and heartbreak of growing up.
