The Bihar and Orissa Public Demands Recovery Act 1914 is a law that was enacted to consolidate and amend the law relating to the recovery of public demands in the provinces of Bihar and Orissa, which were then part of British India. The act defines public demands as any arrears or money mentioned or referred to in Schedule I, which includes various taxes, fees, rents, dues, penalties, fines, etc. The act also provides the procedure for filing, serving, and executing certificates for the recovery of public demands, as well as hearing objections and appeals against them.

The act was passed by the Legislative Department of Bihar and Orissa on July 1, 1914, and came into force on such date as the State Government may appoint by notification in the official gazette. The act extends to the whole of Bihar and Orissa except the districts of Angul and Sambalpur. The act repealed the previous enactments of the Public Demands Recovery Act 1895 and the Bengal Public Demands Recovery (Amendment) Act 1897.
