College Application Info Sessions

  • September 8, 2020: College Advising Orientation

Description: This Session will be a general information session on the virtual college advising supports offered this year to Seniors. It will include important information about how to contact us, services and events this year, helpful resources, important dates coming up, and a general Q&A session to answer any questions you may have.


  • October 7, 2020: Choosing Your College List

Description: Don't know how to narrow down your college list? This session is designed to help you think about the important factors that you should consider when choosing your college list.


  • October 28, 2020: Requesting a Letter of Recommendation & Scholarships

Description: It is important to get the strongest possible letter of recommendation you can get. This session quick 30 minute session is designed to help prepare you for requesting that letter and will provide you with tips and tools you can use for the ask. Yes, Scholarships are important. But, how do you even start to look for them? Which ones can you trust? Where do you find them? how do you apply? Join this session to get these questions answered.


  • Date TBD: Organizing Your college applications

Description: Senior year can be frustrating. Students receive hundreds of very important emails from colleges, scholarships, advisors, teachers, not to mention the dozen or so portals with different logins and passwords and... UGH! How do you keep track of it all?! We're here to help! Attend this session if want to learn some tips and tricks on how to manage your Senior year communications.

Description: We will be hosting a very special graduate student panel featuring Burton high school graduates to talk to current Burton students about their transition to college/career. Join us for this great opportunity to discuss life after high school and ask questions about all that comes with post high school life.
