PulseIron ("the app", "we", "us") is a gym workout tracker for iOS. This policy explains what data the app handles, where it lives, and the choices you have.
PulseIron has no accounts and no login. We don't ask for your name, email, or phone number. Your workout data is saved on your device and backed up to the cloud under a random, anonymous identifier so it isn't lost.

Your workout plans and completed workouts are stored on your device and backed up to our cloud database, held against a random anonymous identifier.
We use Firebase Analytics to see which screens are most used and Firebase Crashlytics to receive automatic crash reports. Both are tied to the same anonymous identifier and contain no personal information.
We do not use advertising SDKs or third-party tracking for advertising.
We do not sell or share your data with third parties for marketing.
The cloud services we use are Firebase (Google) and a public image CDN (jsDelivr).
The plans you build and the workouts you log — exercises, sets, reps, weights, durations, timestamps, and notes — are stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData.
When you save a plan or finish a workout, that data is also backed up to our cloud database (Google Firebase Firestore). A workout in progress stays on your device until you finish it. If you reinstall the app on the same device, the app can restore your backed-up plans and workouts.
Preferences such as your unit of measure (kilograms or pounds) are stored only on your device.
On first launch, the app signs in to Firebase Anonymous Authentication, which generates a random identifier for your install. Your cloud backup is stored against this identifier. It is not linked to your name, email, Apple ID, or any personal information. Because the identifier is tied to this install, the backup is for safekeeping on this device; it is not a sign-in that follows you across devices.
The exercise catalogue text is delivered from Firebase, and exercise demonstration images are loaded from a public content delivery network (jsDelivr). Loading an image is a standard network request, which necessarily exposes your device's IP address to that network provider, as with any internet request. No personal data is sent.
If you use Send Feedback, the app opens your email app so you can write to us — you decide what to include. If you use Rate Us, Apple's standard App Store rating prompt is shown; ratings are handled by Apple under their own privacy policy.
We use Firebase Analytics to count which screens you open and a small number of in-app actions (for example, starting or finishing a workout, saving a plan, changing the unit or appearance) so we can see which parts of the app are actually used. We use Firebase Crashlytics so that if the app crashes we automatically receive a stack trace, the device model and OS version, and a list of the recent screens you visited, which lets us find and fix the bug. Both Analytics and Crashlytics are tied to the same random anonymous identifier as your cloud backup and contain no personal information. We do not use the Advertising Identifier (IDFA) and there is no cross-app tracking.
We rely on the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy:
Firebase / Google (Authentication, Firestore, Analytics, and Crashlytics) — provides the anonymous identifier, serves the exercise catalogue, stores your workout backup, counts screen visits, and receives automatic crash reports. No advertising or ad networks.
No behavioural tracking for advertising.
No use of the Advertising Identifier (IDFA); no cross-app or cross-site tracking.
No sale of personal data.
Local data: Deleting the app from your device removes the workout data stored on the device.
Cloud backup: Your backup, held against the anonymous identifier, remains until you request its deletion. To request deletion, contact us using the details below.
PulseIron is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The app does not collect identifying personal information.
Depending on where you live (e.g. under GDPR or CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you. The only data tied to you is the workout backup held against the anonymous identifier described above. To make a request, contact us below.
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "Last updated" date.
